Q:

burst disc

After you take the insert out with an allen wrench how do you get the burst disc out?? Put a shot of air to it??? Thanks for your help. Looked site over but couldn’t find anything on this. Everytime I ask a question someone tells me to go look it up. Surely it isn’t too hard just to help each other out. Thanks, Ben

The disk was just barely leaking. I had some bullet sealer from reloading. I put a drop of the sealer on the disk and I think it has sealed. Thanks for your replys, Ben

I wanted to ask a few question any way so i called air force , they said that it is two pieces for sure, and they couldn’t sell replacement for it, that it would need to be sent to them for repair,

Which is about what i expected, for liability reasons.

It probably is in there with loctite or silicone.

Thtt is the kind mine is and I haven’t got it to move yet. Anyone know the trick to get it out. I sure would appreciate the help. Surely some of these experts on here have been where I’m at now. Help please. Ben

Maybe its a hollow set screw with the disc under it.

I have a new Condor tank with the high flow valve and it has the hollow set screw, I took it out but the disk would not fall out, I just tipped the tank on the side but it stayed put, I did not need to remove it so I just put the set screw back in.

HUUmmm. Well Maybe it’s two pieces then. give er a shot of air with a towel over it and see if it pops out.

Its not the best idea to change them to up your pressure but to each his own.

Odd but I just realised today that a few of my bottle are rated to 250bar (~3600 psi) and not the normal 207bar (3000opsi). I was very tempted to see what it would work like at 250bar but would have to do just that with the burst disc.

whered you get them at? is that 3600 working pressure? 😯

I took the disk out of my talon tank in one piece with no problems. This high flo tank is different.

Mine is leaking. I wouldn’t be working on it for any other reason.

I have changed them on scuba tanks before and they are simple flat disks. A dental pick was the tool of choice at the scuba shop where I worked. The only reason we changed them was because they ruptured and they came out easy. Its not the best idea to change them to up your pressure but to each his own.

Can’t pick it out with a dental pick. Took valve out and tryed to push out from inside without any luck. I was thinking about wrapping the bottle in a towel and putting a shot of air in the bottle and try to blow it out. I was just wondering if I was missing something.

I was under the impression it was a small flat disc…

Do you have a dental pick or something similar? 😕

Either mine is a disk with a collar holding it in or it has come apart so clean it looks like it was made in two parts. Maybe someone who has taken one out will chime in. Thanks

well i thought it was one piece , and you unscrew it with an allen wrench,

but i have not pulled one out yet.
