sorry – dont know squat about the scope. High end optics (including just about any Leupold) are pricey, no way around it. That said, I came up with a combination of laser plus geometry that solves elevation in my gun from zero to 50 yards. 2 advantages to this – its cheap and It is very very quick. No rangefinder, no balistic chart to memorize. Maybe something like that would work for you, or not. I posted a description and the chairgun chart showing how it works 5/17. Past 50 yards you are into range estimation and hold over.

The other thing you might look at is a long range scope mount. These factor in elevation – basically tilt the scope down a bit so that you get more use out of the adjustment range built into your scope.
