Q:

Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16×50 ?

Does anyone have any experience with the Elite 6500 series? I am thinking of putting this on my brand new .22 Airwolf MCT. I shoot a lot of paper ( 30-50 yards) and don’t hunt. Although, I do a little pest control around the yard (10-30 yards). This scope seems like it would be perfect for my needs:

-ability to focus well in the 10-30 yard range (pest control)
-ability to zoom in tight on a paper target at 30+++ yards

All help is appreciated, Ken

i have a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16. It’s a great scope, I’ve used it on my Edgun and currently have it on my .308 hunting rifle. Good glass, holds zero and has repeatable adjustments.

The hard part of shooting at 10 yards isn’t parallax, it’s knowing your ballistic curve well enough that you aren’t undershooting. You aren’t going to want your rifle zeroed at 10 yards, so you need to know how much lower your POI will be from your POA at that distance.

Would be a good idea to contact someone who actually owns one? My 3-12×44 4200 is advertised, minimum focus @ 20 yards and actually starts @ 10yards, marked on the Parallax turret.

I never used my condor @ 10 yards, so a 20 yard minimum parallax would be OK!.

What is the real world parallax error @ 10 yards anyway, say using 3-6x shooting a sparrow? Seems I read some where parallax came into play only when shooting very small targets @ very close range, using very high magnification…..?

Sam ❓

Only comment to make is parallax… if you’re shooting 1″ at 10 yards and 1″ at 50 yards then you need an adjustable objective (AO) front lens.

Thats all it is?? I thought it was much longer .

Well, the WOTAC is a lifetime warrenty I might go that way then.

If I’m going to drop that kind of coin on a scope…I expect a warranty somewhat better than 1 year limited 😯 😡

I’m using the Elite 4200 3-12×44 IR, and would recommend it for hunting. Be sure to check out the Illuminated reticle, if you plan on hunting after dark.

Hey man , every body’s got different needs, the guy might be shooting for competion , or he might have a Weaver set up so he can use it on all his his rifles , which actually makes it more practical then one for each rifle .or he could be dialing in his shots which you just cant do with the cheaper scopes , they just dont track well.

Then again he might be Paris Hiltons Boyfriend , and has a lot of extra Jing .

and I wont tell him shes cheating on him because its none of my business .

A bushnell elite is on my list for next year ,(er….not the 6500 fucking ouch ) But I could use it on any of my rifles with quick release mounts ,

It’s on Sale only $794.99 what a deal!! Maybe if you are Paris Hilton’s Boyfriend and she is buying you one for a Christmas present. That is a lot of coin for a scope for a Pellet gun. Not to say it isn’t a sweet piece of glas, but I am guessing you could probably get another gun and a scope for that amount… Just Sayin
