Q:

Bushnell Lengend or Simmons 44 Mag

I used to have a Simmons 44 Mag (the original good one) and regret selling it. I’m thinking of getting a Legend.

Which scope is better between the Bushy and the Simmons?

If I had the choice and could find one of the older Simmons 44 Mag’s, I would go with it.

I have the 40mm version of this scope. But no mil-dot’s. It’s 4.5×14 40mm. AO 50 ft to infinity.

It’s unreal how clear it is. I have had it on a .17 HMR for the last several years. A 10/22 before that. I’ve been very happy with it. And I’m a real prick about optical quality! πŸ˜‰

And the 44mag has AO adjustment and both comes with mil dots…..

The Simmons –

Bummer!

I had an original simmons 44 mag mil dot and liked it. Never used a Bushnell.

Both have screw on elevation/windage adjustment caps, the Simmons has target turrets underneath and the Bushnell has plastic finger twist things like a cheap BSA scope.

I trully wouldnt know that…..
But I like it with the caps so that no boudy plays with the elevation and windage once set to zero…

And then I just study the arc on the mil-dots for different distances so …It saves the life of the knobs and no one go mess with it…… πŸ˜‰

It lets you kick in the Quick shot…..
See….Point….Aim….Shoot else it would like
See….Turnett…Point….Aim….Shoot

But if you insist…someboudy else could shed some light out here πŸ’‘

I noticed there are caps and no turrets. Can you buy little turrets to somehow mount on there so you don’t need to fiddle with the caps if you want to adjust?

I dont know about the simmons πŸ™

But I have the legend and would definite recommend one….

Its got crystal clear optics in its range…..right upto the max mag..

I have the 5x-15-40….with Mil-Dot

Holds zero and is much lighter that the rest of the scopes in its class…..

If you run a search for the legend….on this forum….many have written great things about it. πŸ™‚

But then the greed never end……You just wanna go higher the line…..
πŸ˜‰

My old one did. It was 6-24X. Nice scope. I miss it.

I don’t seem to remember the 44m. being avaliable with adjustable paralex. A biggie with Air guns! πŸ˜‰
