Buyers market for the used matadors!!
Been seeing more and more edguns for sale…. seems there not holding there used value as well anymore. maybe the bobcat or crickets are giving it competition or is it the new shipment Of edguns?? it seems to be a buyers market.

I’m thinking his next batch hits US again in 4-6 months. If the .30 performs like his others, he can sell a few hundred units in the US easy. Why would he not make more? He’s already making more….nobody spends thousands on R&D and then makes 20 guns.
It will be a very very long time until we see more .30 Matadors. He will not make any more anytime soon.
Ed will make more .30 Matadors. He said himself he now prefers it for hunting. He’s not stupid…the market wants some pcp’s with serious punch.
I think you gents have pretty much summed up why the price of a used Edgun is where it is presently. The time of year, other newer models, perhaps some negative comparison whether it is true or not. I follow the air gun market pretty well. It has had a downturn for the last 6 months in general. I use to be able to pick up a desirable rifle for less than its market value and resell it with little or no great loss. Some reasons were: death of the owner, no longer interested in it, perhaps broken, just wanted some fast cash, etc. without the knowledge what the actual market value was for it at that time. I generally would shoot it, feel it, fix it if needed, find another gun, then repeat the process. Now all the offerings are a buy. The market is down. If some of you follow the yellow classified’s you have seen me repost my AZ .25 Rapid Action it seems a hundred times 😐 I’ve offered it at $200.00 below what I actually paid and still own it. I wouldn’t let negative info scare me from what I have with my own hands, experienced with the Edguns I have owned. And as far as accuracy, personally, I have made some awesome kills at distances and consecutively with the Edguns I have owned. I see I’m not the only one who really digs them or shoots them well! Look at this TAG group for one. All of us together can’t be blind to the facts. The fact that they look cool as hell, hold well, are easy to cycle, are reliable, are built with quality parts and machining, can be worked on by their owner if needed including adjusting the power as one see fit. I suppose my proof of that is in the fact I have put my money down, and like a few of you are expecting some of Ed’s newest this month. Don’t be discouraged fellas. It is what it is. The informed wait to hear our experience with our new ones. We will spill only the facts. Just like our friend Hemn. I think he is the most anxious to hear of anybody. :8: I need to go run a few miles now. This waiting has got me all worked up. 😎
So far badly shooting EdGuns are few and far between. Hopefully ,and i don´t have any doubts , the .30 will continue that trait.
I’d say any .30 that comes up on the market will get snapped up quickly and at a premium given the current exclusivity… but the days of putting your used single shot .22 or .25 up on the Yellow for $2400 and having it sell in less than an hour are long gone.
In January of this year when I sold my new 25 R3 standard (decided to keep the long instead) it went for $100 more than I paid which barely covered shipping & insurance and it took a couple of days to sell.
Additionally, around Christmas is always a tough time to sell anything– money is tight, buyers are few and far between, and any buyer you do find will likely haggle more than usual knowing there are many sellers out there who *have* to sell for Christmas money and will accept lower than usual offers.
All depends on how well these shoot!!
I was referring to the .22 and .25 Matador R3. The .30 Matadors can not be converted. I don’t think Ed is interested in making Ms breech for it.
As for collector item for the .30, I am not so sure because Ed could decide to make more.

So there will only be 20 – 30 cal single shot Matadors in existence? (in the US at least) An instant collectors item. 😀 Plus you could convert to MS then but that would hurt the value of these babies. I always dreamed of this with PBs but was never that lucky on my purchases.

Ed said he will not make single action anymore. All will be MS. In my opinion, singe action breeches are going to be very desirable. I will keep my single shot R3 Matador and add the MS breech later when available.

The guys with FX guns don’t even get offers based I what I have seen on the Yellow..
Hell… Ask Oldgoat… He has been sitting on a FX 400 that a long time with no takers.
I’ll keep with the Edguns.. Don’t get me wrong. I have a couple of FX’s. But Ill never pay full price for one again.
Just wait a couple of months and pick one up at much better deal off the yellow.

My vision was once clouded too. Bobcat wins? well it seems that way in the accuracy dept. but i can’t say cause i haven’t shot a cricket or an edgun.
Been down that road. owned one and sold it. when you pay $2000.00 ++ for an air gun I would expect better quality control and customer service. seems the only one getting good customer service is TED. Them first stocks sent out were a science experiment gone wrong. They down right suck!!! they couldn’t even center the pressure gauge. the new stocks maybe a better design but the gun as a whole is heavy. now they come out with moderator ext’s and air tube extensions that just adds to an already heavy gun. sure the gun looks better and shoots outstanding but i feel there is a lot more to a gun than the looks and its accuracy. yes accuracy is big . but i felt that other things outweighed it .

What, two to three Ed’s go up for sale and it’s some huge sell off? 😕
And a used rifle going for 10% under full price is NOT any kind of a deal.
Can’t imagine what the same reaction must be for the amount of MRods that are being sold at any given time…
