I was just teasing a little bit there my friend.. you take any gun you want to a FT match. It don’t take a high dollar rig at all.. I know of a lot of guys that shoot R9 and HW97’s… I am sure there are some guys out there shooting Air Force guns…

My friend Bob in WV said wouldn,t be nice if we could get away with a Talon, so as you all can see I ask, I had been talking to Chris and I know now for sure it is between a FX and a Air Arms, I can,t aford a EV-2, I am going to attend the Lexington event and after that I should have a good idea about some of this equipment. Thank allot fellows

The Condor and the Talon are just not built or configured for FT.. It would be pretty difficult to set the gun up like a FT rig.. I have a couple of FT rigs and just the way the gun is built is a negative.. Not to say you could set it up. But it would be a tough gun to shoot in the FT positions (sitting) I haven’t tried it yet with my Condor but I think it would be a bit awkward. .. Here is a picture of a FT rig and you look at it and see what I mean..

talon/condor for field target was recently discussed here, check this thread for some pointers on accuracy

Hi Joe,

The GunPower versions of our Talons are tuned to 12 ft/lbs for sale in the UK market, so to answer your question, yes they can indeed be tuned under 20 ft/lbs. Some UK websites claim around 300 shots at 12 ft/lbs., but that might be exaggerated, maybe someone else can share their real-world shot count.

However, the Talon is NOT is a guaranteed, out-of-the-box, field target caliber shooting rifle. To expect it to be such is going to lead to disappointment.

This would be a real project gun for hunter class field target and even with it detuned, it will never be as consistent over a chrony as either the FX or the Air Arms you’ve been asking about. I still think you’d be happier overall and better off buying the Typhoon for the purposes you’ve listed 😉
