Q:

Can R3m .22 std be set to 12 ft/lbs for backyard plinking?

I know the Matador r3m std performs better at high velocity. I’m wondering if it also can be set at lower speed and shoot well too.

Thanks all. So I just need set 13.43 jsb at 820 fps to get 20 fpe energy. I’ll figure out regulator pressure and hst. PA run out of jsb 13.43.

I’ve got my 22 tuned to 20fpe with 13.43jsb. Still wicked accurate out to 100yds, very high shot count and much quieter.

I believe it could be done but i’d warn you that if you turn the reg down too much you will run into issues with draining all the air out of the tube… I found out the hard way detuning my 177 Standard R3. 😯

Which pellets are you going to shoot in 22 at 12fpe?

If you are shooting something around 13.43 grains (JSB RS and AA Falcon) you will be pushing them at around 630fps. That will get you about 16″ of drop at 55 yards. At 20fpe the same pellet drops 9″ at 55 yards.

If you go for a lighter pellet the issue you will run into is getting that pellet to be accurate. Most of the light 22 pellets suck frankly…

I’d detune it to 20fpe if you are not limited by power restrictions set by law. It’s still wicked accurate with the 13.43 pellets and won’t blow through things so quickly. 😉

Yes it can and very soon one of the guru’s on here will explain you the details/guidelines..

Though I think that 12 ft/lb for a .22 cal will be much of a banana trajectory 🙁

Should probably better convert it to .177 cal but I doubt parts are available 🙁
