Q:

Can’t close my breech all the way

Hello all-

Is the breech on the condor suppose to be closed all the way once cock/load. I try to close all the way by can’t,, but fire just fine. Do I have to put more force into it to make it close? I can never get ti to close to the point that I can rotate/lock to the left or right.

thanks

I believe power is still good, at 4/1 I still put it through the 3/4 wood. For accuracy, today I was able to go to the range.

at 50yds, kodiak is deadly with 1 hole. 75yrs, open up to an inch with 1 1/4 mil dot drop. At 100yds open to around total 2 inches up/down and about total 1 1/2 inches left/right with 5mil dot drop.

JSB at 50yds is still one hole with a flyer, 75yds is 1 inch and 1 mil dot drop, at 100yds open to 2 inches with 4mil dot drop.

Wish I have a chrony to check fps, but first refill I was able to shoot around 40-50 shots before my zero start to drop an inch. Zero at 50yds.

.22 24″ talon tank.

so just wondering did u lose any power ? Did u gain power did u regain a good shot count? How about groups did they tighen up?

Set it too .090 inche, can close the breech now 😀 . Taking it to the range tomorrow for zero at 50yds and jog down the drop at 75yds+.

Once again thanks all.

Thanks all. I will set it to .100 for now until I receive my chrony for fps measurement.

Thanks!

Thats a crazy gap . Put it at .100 then go down from there u shouldnt loose much power if any.

thats crazy high! loosen the TH screws and turn little by little till you can fully close the bolt, and then gently tighten them. 2 things to remember…dont crank them down as to dent the stem(if its hiflow), and you may want a chrony to see if maybe you might want it lower for efficiencys sake… 😎

Between my tophat and brass it sitting .1735 inche or 4.40mm (digi cal), what is the min that I can lower down too without loosing soo much power or at less comparing to factory. This is a talon tank, not a condor tank.

Make sure both Top Hat set screws are at least below the edge of the Top Hat. Otherwise, it can chew up the recess on the front of the breech.

How much gap is between the base of the TopHat and the brass valve body?

It seem that I have to readjust the top hat, with uncock/unload I still cant get it to close to the left or right.

Thanks all, guess I have to readjust my top hat(blindly – no chrony). Hope it will still go through the 3/4 wood aafter the adjust. Right now it goes through it with power at 4.

Thanks all 😀

Push the bolt back onto the top hat until there is a “Click”

If you still can not close it, then you might need to adjust the top hat.

Its not like they lock down like a bolt action rifle. they just close and you turn it left or right.
