Q:

Carbine Ideas

Hey guys, Im wrapping up with the mrod setup, as it now wears a nice hawke panaroma, the jack haley got a hawke sport hd and it getting worked over by Jack, probally have a gift from GTBJ to 😀

The gamo hunter 440 is getting new spring from vortex? Special cut for the gamo…new seal tune etc.

So Im set up, I just need a fill hose and Im going to be shooting the piss out of these guns then, so expect long absences from the forum lol.

But Im looking for another gun, in 22 more of a carbine instead of a 10 lb mrod, so I was thinking a s410 or 510 carbine with the classic tube…Can you get that from the factory now?

I was thinking of turning it down to about 20 ft lbs and adding a reg. Thats just about it so thoughts? Or should I be looking at a different carbine?

Thanks

Idk I think Im going to go in a different direction, I really want to try out a 25, but dont want another mrod so Im going to go with a disco double tube and breech from those guys with 25 mrod barrel, and keep it open sights for weight. Ill put some fiber optics on it.

and after that I want a talon from TOny, who lives in my town! With a wok guard. THEN I will pick up a aa pcp. And hoot I appreciate the pm.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Well…it seems I had a lot of nothing to say, as multiple posts have appeared.

No, I don’t know how/why they showed up.

At 20 fpe I don’t believe you would need a regulator. Simply turn the power wheel down by 1/3rd to 1/2. If you were to go lower, say to 12 fpe, then you might begin to find a regulator would provide a larger shot count and less deviation in fps per shot.

I investigated this possibility rather thoroughly, and I found that a regulator for the S510 is nearly impossible to find, and those available don’t really provide much improvement over the power wheel provided on the newer AA carbines.

I have a AA carbine with the classic tube.

I really like mine alot. The carbines all now come with the classic tube.
Which is great, I had to change mine out.

What I really like is it has the adjustable power wheel on the side.
She make 27- 30 fpe on full power. The fpe depends how heavy your pellets you are using.

The reg part of it, I don’t think you need it, it is just somthing else that can be a hassle, & can go wrong.

I was shooting mine yesterday, I would say that I was getting 3 mags on full power. And the forth mag I would raise my aim a little bid, & I was fine with it.

Now if you wanting to use 20 fpe, then just set the power wheel a the half way mark.

And you’ll be getting way more shots than four clips worth. 😯

For a carbine they are pretty heavy.

Get a Ranstorm and shorten the hammer spring.

The AA carbine with the classic tube only gets two magazines from a fill.
