Q:

Career shroud

I am thinking of getting a career 707, In either .25 or 9mm, and I was wondering if anyone has figured out some sort of baffle/shroud configuration with it? Or is the sound just something you deal with when buying these guns.

I just got a lathe so i will be able to make shrouds, but I don’t want it to be illegal.

Man a great goulash is hard to come by!

It is in the UK. You can buy a middle of the range sniper from the local shops. Granted, it may only be a cheap ex- Eastern Block job, but it works good enough.
Spend a little more and you start getting into ex-Spetnaz. They drink a fair bit more vodka but are well house trained. My current sniper(Boris) not only snipes innocent bypassers out to 700yrds, but will also vacuum the front room and does a great Goulash 😎 You can really see where the extra money goes….. 😉

The thin aluminium body must be proof enought to not be used in a firearm.
Cause with just a .22 rimfire pressure it will be break in pieces.
At least thats the explanation a police chief say me ill shoud say in case other police member stop me and ask in the field.
For the present the only explain they want when see the Talon is “wath the fxxx is thath?” With the last cop we end shooting to a few cans in the roadside. Kinda crazy. 😀

That is the same as the law here, but if it can be fitted to a firearm and quite the shot 1db, then it’s illegal.

Its empty inside with a single bafle at the end. A little detail: this schroud is completely legal in Argentina. The law only say silencers for firearms are prohibited. so put this little accesory in the same level as a car exaust silencer.

“Bikin – Meet Bubba, Bubba – meet fresh meat aka Bikin….”

Can I have your lathe when your doing the 15 year stretch?

I have a Career 300. With that on the end

That just screams arrest me!

Is there any kind of baffles in that shroud?

ill let you some photos of my friend Charch, is career III 300 with talon frame extender.
He made an adapter so now can use the same schroud on both rifles.

the result is a very quiet career 🙂

i dont see how a shroud could be mounted on a career rifle, the barrel does not sit high enough for a centred shroud.

you could do an off center shroud though, im sure you could slide a very thinwalled tube over the barrel, and in between the tank(s)

a silencer would be needed on a career, for the .177, 22, .25 nothing fancy is needed really, but for 9mm+ you will need something the size of a 4 to 6 cell maglite ! just to make an impact on the sound….and still it will be audiable for close neighbourgs…allthough the sound can be changed from shot to say nail puncher…but i wouldnt wanna be in your shoes if the cops decides to make a case out of you !

“What they don’t know, won’t hurt them” 😈

I have just though of a great idea, how about a collapsable shroud!
There could be like three, two inch sections, that gradually get small moving toward the end of the barrel, and the last section could fit over the frame. This way, when you hear the sirens blaring, you just slide it back so it looks like a fat end cap. Here is how it would go:

“What is that thing on the end of your gun?”

“ummmm, it is a weight to balance it out for off hand shots :D”

I am gonna go for it and see if this could possibly work, my new lathe is just a blast to use! 8) Here is a pic of us picking it up

My mom freaked out when my dad told her we just picked up a 1000 pound machine, and said it could not stay at the house. Soooo, we had to put it at the next best place. My dad and I have been doing volunteer work at Travel Town train museum in griffith park for 3 years. I go down a couple times a week to work on things that need to be done, mostly working on trains(duh!) I am down there enough that it is a good place for it. The rest of the crew were glad we decided to bring it to TT. Here are some more pics of it finding its new home.

I am not exactly sure how this turned in to showing pics of a lathe, but I didn’t want to start a new thread. I hope you enjoy!

Edit. More pics added, lol. 😀

Getting a moderator on one of thoses screams silencer!.

I have a career and putting a shroud on it is not worth the trouble.

Aka, you better make it quiet enough that no cops show up. 😛
