Well if Rob & Jerry are vouching for the credibility of Ced I am not going to question his further one bit
it just astounds me that someone gets a crap gun doesn’t attempt to get it made right by the maker then even after that bad experience returns for a second helping of getting screwed over then again doesn’t return the rifle.
Guess it can happen but it does strain the chain of logical behavior
again I would not ever eat at a restaurant that poisoned me nor would I even purchase a pack of smokes from a gas station that sold me watered down gas
both have happened to me in the past and I am very hard core about patronizing anyone that gave me the jack up.
as I stated from the beginning of all this my rifle runs fine and yes Ced in some areas it IS superior to my .50 DAQ Bandit
really prefer Jack’s aesthetic sense better, it seems to be a more accurate rifle, yes the bolt is slightly more snug than the Bandit’s bolt as well
maybe then I have a “bad” DAQ and a “good” Haley?
all I know is they both shoot great, just lean toward the JH .45 over the .50 DAQ
not that there are not flaws in my Haley
band has grind/machine marks under otherwise nice bluing
trigger could be better as could the pre finish stock prep
still say there is more to this story on both sides but I wont argue that Jack has done some screw ups, he has…the loose QB stock I have shows that as apparently so do the pix of Ceds .32

You’re wrong about Tofazfou having an agenda. He and I were exchanging emails about slugs and these JH guns over a year ago. I asked him then why he was buying another JH and he told me he thought the guns had got better and the first one might have been a fluke. I just went back and read some of those emails again and even found the one with the pictures he sent me last January.

If a guy makes a post about a GOOD gun, he can only state his experiences with that particular gun.
The same thing for a guy with a BAD gun.
But neither should really CRAP on the other guy for telling their side of the story.
A post like this one for example is only for putting out info. Just like the guy who post nothing but “INCREDIBLE” stories with his particular gun.
This info is here to help future consumers make choices.
That is what any post negative or positive is here for……INFO.
As Butcher said, we are simply talking about airguns or air gun manufacturers…not our Mothers. So guys should not get so attached to the manufacturers. I see it all the time on these forums. One guy sais his Marauder (ie) sucks cause the barrel was bent, or the crown had a big nick in it, or that the build quality was horrible, then the folks who have good Marauders jump all over the guy with the bad experience. WHY?
We owe the Manufacturers nothing but the truth. In the end, it helps all parties involved.
YES, 1 of my guns is 2 years old. The other gun is 1 year old.
BUT THE FUCKING POST ON THE BOI is THIS MONTH (12-2010). That means that REGARDLESS of how good your current guns are as far as CRAFTSMANSHIP, JACK STILL IS CURRENTLY MAKING “CRAP”. I can relate to that I have all 3 Marauds and the pistol, I have had no problem with them, but people on this forum right here say they are Junk.
They actually shoot flatter and better than the high dollar air force I bought. Not downing the air force gun cause it shoots good too and is lighter to handle, the marauds are better shooting guns.
The truth is mine shoots better than the ones that are modified and shown on YouTube, My Discos out of the box shoots with more speed than the ones shown on you tube modified, and they shoot good. So some will get lemons and some will get good guns.
So far my collection is complete and I have every gun in my collection I wanted and am 100% satisfied.
So if the buyer says they got a maraud that is junk, who am I to say they are wrong based on my good guns? 😀

as to the bolt my Haley jingles and jangles a bit less than my DAQ Bandit and considerably less than my QB based .308
I guess DAQs are now “defective” too 😆 😆 😆

I had a pile o shit sent to J3magnum a long time back now took forever to come supposedly bad shipping etc etc… well finally got the parts i coulda done a hack job and had better quality etc. But after reviewing some others shit he had done after well i ordered again from him i didnt contact him about the shit work he sent i chalked one up to bad day, etc. i fixed the shit myself and was done
the condor i got from j3magnum looked good and all i never tore it down to see the work but the guy i sold it too did tear it down well the gun had rusty bbl , bad machining from the custom parts and it fucked me in the ass as i had to give the guy a 200 dollar 22xx i had and a holster for it to compensate him due to jims shit work now did i contact jim no i chalked it up and will not do business again but i did go back and got burnt again seems the situation with tofaz is similar but with a diff Gun maker

Let me first state my experience with Jacks guns and my personal experience… not what I saw on the web.
Jack and Reba are great folks to talk to. They’ve been helpful. I first got a QB .177 conversion…this when he very first started making them…before he even did big bores.
when he started doing the .32’s, I called and asked if he could do a trade in as I had plenty of other .177’s… Jack agreed and I got a .32 uppper and tube… I specifically asked for a lower powered .32…around 60fpe for squirell and such. He obliged and the gun does exactly that.
NOW…
After talking with Ced (Tofaz) I opted to tear down my gun to see if I could get a bit more performance out of it. Why was I talking with Tofaz about the gun in the first place? Because he knows his shit. I’ve known him through the forums for a long time now…. while some people consider me someone who knows MY shit… when I have questions, I contact Tofaz. That should tell you something.
I tore down my Haley gun and yes… it was a little crude on the inside. Wasnt a problem for me because to my eyes, it seemed safe.. and allowed for improvement by polishing porting and such… much the same as most other guns.
By crude, I mean that there were numerous ‘little’ things… bolt probe off center… parts not polished… tooling marks… etc… in my experience.. nothing glaring and nothing unsafe. Certainly nothing that I would have contacted Jack about because at the price point I paid, the gun met my needs.
So… have I recommended Jacks guns… yep. Will I? Yep… I’ve no bone to pick with Jack as the guns I’VE had has been fine. I would hope that IF there are safety issues, that he’d address those…
Now… as far as Tofaz with a hidden agenda or whatever… nope. Those who know Ced knows that he is a straight shooter… if he says it… then he damn well believes it. There is no mincing of words, there is no hidden agenda, there is no pussy footing around. I may not agree with everything he says on various subjects, but I dont ever doubt his sincerity in what he says.
Same with Butcher, though I’ve not had as much contact with him. If he sees a problem, he will alert people… he did it with the 909’s and has done it with other guns… me? I suppose I’m not so nice. For the most part, I could give two rat fucks if a gun blows up in someones face who I dont know… no hair off my ass. A real douchebag thing to say? Perhaps… but the fact is that no good deed goes unpunished and typically, when you try to help people, you get shit on.
Now… for the folks that have Haley guns and are happy… I’m glad! I do love the looks of his guns! Thats a fact! They also are producing accuracy that I have to admit… may my DAQ look a bit inadequate… I’m jealous!!! I’d love to own another Haley gun… but given the pics I’ve seen… I’d definitely check it out… and until I’m proven otherwise, I’d put my money in the fact that if I alerted Jack to any issues I found… he’d fix them.

Again, who is this mystery person that was SUPPOSEDLY refused a rifle to review, and is unable to get over it? Is there any proof of this, or are you just going by heresay?
I take it this was supposedly recent, as you say it brought on the people complaining about Jack’s products as of late? Why keep it a secret? And why would the refusal to send a rifle for review be any sort of big deal to anyone? THAT doesn’t make sense, and doesn’t pass the smell test.
It was not until RJ posted that he was told no-one had returned rifles they weren’t happy with that I mentioned the Haleys online in any way, shape, or form. He had been LIED to (which has been PROVEN right here in case you didn’t notice), so I let him know the TRUTH about that. When pressed on the issue, I put-up Terry’s video. Haven’t lied about a thing, and can back-up what I say with real evidence.
1) Do you believe Terry had some sort of hidden agenda with his rifle? He was viciously defending the Haleys TOOTH AND NAIL up until he opened that box. He was very nice about returning it to them as well, but they immediately talk smack about Terry anyway and he didn’t even make any noise online about it. 2)Do you REALLY think Tofazfou wrecked the parts before taking pictures of them? And 3) are you a complete fucking idiot? The answers to one, two, and three should all be the same.
Why is it so hard to understand, that the posts critical of Jack’s machining are not being made due to some sort of hidden agenda/vendetta? It was over a product that wasn’t up to par! That was all!
No one is spreading lies about the Haleys….but it’s clear the Haley’s are spreading lies about anyone that doesn’t talk them up. Clear to anyone that isn’t a complete fucking idiot, that is. Everyone hear is offering proof, not heresay.

I have received PLENTY of half rate things that were better off fixed by me instead of going back to the clown that produced them. If the clown didn’t have the ability to make it right the first time what makes you think they will do it right the second or third?
If I received a rifle like the one in question I would do everything to fix it myself to be sure it was safer than when I received it, no fucking way would it go back unless I had to have all my money and couldn’t do the repairs.
