i would love to see u get a life a be a productful part of society
I do hope you change your mind about dis-assembling your rifle, as it is one of their most recent efforts.
I would LOVE to see that their quality has improved. Really!
just sick of all the down grading bullshit
Sounds reasonable to me. If the quality has improved, I couldn’t be happier.
What’s with all the emotion? We are talking about rifles……RIFLES man. No need for you to get upset over it.
mrs reba tlod me to take apart my gun to show yall but i refused to cause my gun aint broke and also when i have it for a year or more and im not satisified with it i can get a refund on my gun y should i take apart my perfectly good working gun that performs as quoted so if u dont like the fact that im not gonna take apart my gun for u to be amused u can BLOW IT OUT UR ASS AND FUCK OFF

You nailed it! That would be me, as well.

I am also certain that Jack and Reba are monitoring this forum, as Jack has already e-mailed me about it.
It is a safe bet that Reba has called everyone with a Haley rifle involved with these threads, and asked them to defend her, begged them to not take their guns apart, etc. Reba called me when Tofazfou originally posted, and literally told me to post something in her defense (I am virtually positive this is what happened with rhew here). At the time, she was not aware that I had been an online friend of Tofazfou for quite awhile already, and have a lot of respect for his opinion on airguns and his shooting/tuning ability.
Everyone should also consider that the primary motive for bringing this information to light is to protect the consumer…….we are not doing it to attack the maker.
It’s only fair to say that I feel Jack would have tried to make it right by trying to fix the problems. The customers I know had no confidence in his ability to do so, so they declined.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I got a call from Reba a few weeks after I got my Rifle and she wanted to know how I liked it and she also expressed that if I have any issues to call her…so my experience was first class service.
I understand that people—especially more talented and knowledgable people—hold others in their social circles to the highest standards. When we expect too much from others we oft times than not are let down. Nobody is perfect. I realize that some feel that as long as a man is making and selling guns he is expected to sell a product that is worthy of our hard earned greenbacks and if we receive said product and feel it is not worthy we can figure out a way to fix it (by sending it back, or if not confident in the builder, doing it ourselves) or we can proceed to get our money back and move on.
One thing I like about the Haleys is their product is available. I will never be able to afford a Barnes, and I doubt I will be “lucky enough” to get a DQ. If I had my way, I’d like to have one of each π but for now I have a JH .457 and overall I am very pleased with it and I am confident that if I felt it was not truly advertised I would be able to get a full refund.
I hope this issue settles and we can get on with enjoying this awesome sport and hopefully we can all walk away with a better understanding of how to proceed tomorrow.
The 909 and Corsair are BOTH distractors on this thread other than the point that damn near everything has an issue now and then.
The point is about quality control, engineering, and customer service!
Riverside, I have a little issue about “#2”, the pictures of internals I’ve seen and have been posted are in fact from completed guns. The DBOI post simply initiated a discussion of JH quality but a couple guys here are talking about their complete guns and the video is of a complete gun. I don’t think the tube work and gun work is seperable at this point…
Regarding Tony (since he was mentioned), I’ve seen some posts regarding an issue or two but the FREAKING HUGE difference is that those posts were followed up with posts saying Tony was awesome for talking the guy through the problem or taking the gun back and fixing it! BTW, none of those issues ever had anything like a edge drilled hole or rusted bits…well you’ve seen the pictures.
I try to be fair and people make mistakes, send something out they should have held (and taken abuse for being late), but when one ignores the mistakes they made, or attack the guy that found them; well, that’s a problem.
#1…there are issues with the Sam Yangs…accidental discharges and all that rot. Never happened with ANY that I have owned but it’s a reported issue.
Very true! You will notice that I made a post on this very board (that is now a sticky post), and all the other boards I could about it, because I thought it could save someone’s life. The people that brought the issue to my attention were initiially hesitant to come forward about it because they didn’t want to “make waves”. They promised me they would come forward if anyone else had that issue, and it proved to not be an isolated incident.
I posted that on every airgun board I knew of……not just my favorite boards. Made more noise about it than anyone. I figured EVERYONE’S life was worth it.
The SamYang’s need a few items to make them right…..I tell people about them every chance I get…..fill fitting, loading-port sleeve, and cocking lever. They also need to be stored with a low fill to avoid deforming the exhaust valve. That about covers the deficiencies of the 909 guns.
I don’t understand how the Corsair found it’s way into this topic, as it is in a completely different league. It is built by a professional hydraulic/pneumatic machinist that has CNC equipment. I spoke with him awhile back before he put his own designs on the market, and talked to him about the catastrophic failures that have occurred. I believe he is building safe rifles.
I expect ANY production rifle to initially have bugs to be worked out….that is why I said I like the idea of a rifle that has been on the market for awhile. I have a feeling the Corsair will see less bugs than most. I’m in no hurry to buy any new airgun design.
always done the modified custom route myself as I have seldom been satisfied with factory stock, besides how else would WOK ever be able to afford his Astroglide?
Never heard one complaint about Tony’s work either…fucker is damn near legendary. Never had one of his fully tuned rifles but do have two of Tony’s frames, a valve and other assorted bits I have used on other builds.
Love Disco’s, you can search high & low and never find a bitch from me about them
My Marauder experience was Bad…REAL BAD
not against the breed what so ever, will likely pick up a .25 to play with sooner or later but my 1st of a 100 .22 was nothing but problems, worst AG I have owned to this point
non existant QC
I just love the Fanboy posts telling folks to buy a bunch of replacement barrels until you find one that shoots then sell the left over culls
For the money the damn rifles should shoot right out of the box.
facts are Marauders are still a roll of the dice
Some are superb, others are well below average and on a few the barrels are good only for Tomato stakes
From what I see Randy is certainly standing behind the Corsair, that’s truly to his credit…again nothing I stated was intended to diminish the gun.
Truth is though look hard enough and you find complaints on just about everyone in the industry, Tuners & Builders alike
my oft’ bitched about point is when one lays down hard cash on what is lets face it, a significant purchase we should be able to expect that item to run as advertised the first time we use it.
This is particularly true of hand built products…no excuses, I don’t care whether it’s a Marauder, Corsair or JH…and no, the Marauder is not built by a line of computer controlled robotic arms
When you do have problems what this generally indicates is that the piece was assembled and either sent out untested or the manufacturer just didn’t give a damn, sometimes both.
Good service after the fact is great but one should not need that service immediately upon opening the box.
Sad truth is though you find examples of this all through the production & custom AG industry with Extremely few exceptions
can’t recall any issues with Rich’s or Roy Weids builds but even seen careful gripes regarding Tim McMurray’s “tuned” Marauders not to mention Davis’ builds
Lot’s of Fanboys out there, I tend to be the Jackass that will give you my own honest opinion Fanboys be damned

You’re definatly a man of truth . I only had that one problem, my discos shoot faster and better than the ones I see on YouTube and my Marauders do too and so does my Corsair. So Leave everything stock. My Talon Tune Talon shoots like a champ and so does the other 3 Air Force Rifles from 17 to 25 caliber , couldn’t pick one from the other, One exception the Marauder from 10 to 45 shoots more flatter than any of them.
When I go buy a powder burner and if I have some of the problems they are having here from “custom?” guns? I would probably drive down south and personally deliver it back and while I’m there they can hand me over some cash for my trouble. Yet Factory still out performs Custom? Now that’s a new one for sure. π
it’s a huge assumption that Jack read the threads here or is even a TAG member in the first place but he is certainly a Yellow member where the bad DBOI was left on the tubes.
