Q:

Cerakoted ODG Edgun

I’ve always enjoyed customizing my guns, especially quality firearms :winkn: So I finally decided on sending out my r3M/r3 for a new look. So many choices to choose from but I’m happy with the selection so far. After many months I finally received my order neatly packed. During the assembly I noticed a much tighter fit due to the cerakote leaving a thick coating of paint. I’m not complaining, it’s actually a good thing because this will be my woods rifle. However I still do baby all guns but to have the peace of mind knowing cerakote is that durable will leave some room for abuse :biggrinn:

I was like a confused little bitch when it came to which optics to paint so I sent off a Bushnell HD 3×9 duplex, SWFA SS 10X and decided not to go with either one. Now i’m thinking of sending off a Leupold VX-2 3-9×40 LR Duplex Reticle (110801)

I really love this scope and currently have it on my Lelya .22 right now. For a carry gun in the woods, you can’t beat it, but that’s just my opinion after trying 20 different scopes. Extremely light, bright, enough power to reach out with a 2 mil hold over. But once again that can change

While assembling I had issues with leaks and screws being stripped. I’d like to thank Ernest AKA OG for his wealth of knowledge helping me through this venture. I’d also like to thank Donny for pointing out where I can get some parts as well. The stock has been sent off to get hydro dipped and should have it by the end of the month.

I’ll post final images.

I really like the hydro dip. It was a walnut stock prior or plastic? The action is a little bit on the green side or is it just the camera settings? The first pic of your action looks like a good shade of green.

Stock was wood. As for the different shades, most likely camera settings.

Thanks for the compliments fellas, I’ll be uploading more pix from different projects πŸ™‚

Ig very nice!!! :8:

That looks Really cool! The highlander pattern works pretty well.

Alrighty here I go. I was lucky enough to get into a group buy and received a discount on multiple items. I shipped off rifles, handguns, scopes, mounts as well as one pcp being the Edgun. I honestly couldn’t give you a breakdown because of all the items I sent in to take advantage of the discount. Don’t quote me but I believe if you send in a rifle now it would be roughly $300, once again not sure. I’ll also mention that they didn’t sound too happy when they unwrapped the Edgun being that it looked like lego pieces compared to a receiver and barrel of a powder burner. Some folks were happy with the results and others not so. I will say that I was satisfied with all my items.

I’m hoping to get images up soon. Not enough play time πŸ™‚

I’m real happy with how the hydro dipping turned out. Except I have no idea how well it will hold up and obviously not as well as the cerakote. The shop did mention it is durable though. I don’t beat my shit so I’ll never know unless it drops from my hands. They completely paint the rifle then apply the hydro dip followed by a clear coat of gloss or matte per customers request. I chose matte, I’m not trying bling here :ugeekn:

I do like that look for the stock and I’m not much of a camo guy. With the color you chose to cerakote the metal should prove to be a good choice. I look forward to seeing it assembled. Now for question on the minds that are following this post, how much$? If you don’t mind tellin.

Cheers

That look nice and for the record I’ve never seen that before i started my project.

I got my stock back just now so I will assemble and post images later.

May be something like this?…..I know its a cricket πŸ˜€

Mine is just a wrap, I didn’t want to be something permanent but I know yours is gonna look awesome,
That’s one of my favorites patterns, I might get the Mandrake pattern for my Edgun. I can’t wait to see the finished product! :8:

Hi IG,

like many others I’m curious to see the final result BUT

how could you wait for SO LONG? 😯

OK, probably you will have the NEXT GENERATION bullpup πŸ˜€

I’d like to see how the hydro dip finish fares, compared to the cerakote. I recently had my first gun (powder burner) cerakoted – results look great, but I only have a few hundred rounds through it since, so I have no conclusive data on how well it wears yet.

Wow I’m not going to lie. I’m anxious to see what the outcome looks like!
