Changed my Scope’s paint scheme today.

_/\_No, I didn’t camo paint the scope! Actually I changed the the color of the hash marks and numbers on the elevation-windage-parallax turrets and the mag ring, from a hard to see, very dark, almost black, flat olive drab, to a very bright gloss white paint. The finished product was bright white-semi gloss, 100% better for me. Looks as good as the photo’s in the link? I didn’t paint the IR Turret numbers, almost never used, and didn’t use numbers when I did!

_I used the method read about on the Snipers Hide, Optics forum. You need a fine point-oil based paint pen and some lacquer thinner and cue-tips. Use the paint pen’s fine point to follow into the groves of the hash marks and numbers, trying not to let much paint flow out of the groves, let the paint dry for several minutes and then use a cue-tip/paint thinner to wipe across/over the hash marks and numbers to remove excess paint. Moving the cue-tip parallel to the groves tended to clean the paint out of em, leaving uneven paint.

_This was a lot easier than I thought, The hardest thing for me was keeping the pen’s paint flowing. An that was with the cap on or off and cleaning the tip or even dipping it into the paint thinner before capping the pen.

I had been considering calling Bushnell about changing the paint scheme or even upgrading to one of the new Elite series, which have been changed to a white paint scheme. One less thing to gripe about now :popcorn:
