Changing the Hammer Spring on a AA S410???
Hey All…
Well I did it and just bought myself a new a AA S410 Xtra FAC in .22cal with a Walnut stock.
What a beauty and well… you AA owners know the rest.
Now… I can’t help it but I did some on-line searching a found a few tuning kits but I think they’re geared to the folks in the UK as they can only have 12 ft/lbs max. and so I think those tuning kit turns it into our version which is the Xtra FAC model.
So my question is will changing the hammer spring on the FAC model increase the FPS or is it not that simple and much more involved… Has anybody tried?
Thanks.

Like the gentleman and WOK said before, its not worth it to mess with the 410.
All you will end up with is piss-poor shot count and inconsistent velocities, meaning “shoots like shit”.
If you do get the gun apart that far, polishing the spring guide can tighten up the FPS spread. Do not be tempted to lube the spring or guide, its meant to be dry.
