Q:

Cheap Mill/Drill Spindle LED Light

Wasnt shopping for one, but couldnt pass up $3.99 for this “Camping” light from the Christmas Tree Shop.

The center hole is a fraction of an inch too small to fit around my Mills R8 Spindle, but I was planning on making a metal mount for it (once my CNC is up and running).

The insides are really simple, 4 PCB’s soldered together, a switch and battery terminals – Nothing that would get in the way of making the center hole larger. I’ll probably replace the battery terminals with a DC cord to make the thing smaller, and easier to make a replacement on the Mill.

I was half expecting this to be way too dim to use for anything, but its surprisingly bright.

nice find 😀

Sold in Wal-Mart too.

They are pretty good, I dont notice any blue.

Just did an impromptu test and I can see a blue tint when I shine at the ceiling, but not when I light up my desk with all its paper clutter when all the other are lights turned off.

How’s the color? Bluish or natural?

Thanx, Martin
