Q:

Check out my buddies homemade Mrod Bullpup

My friend John recently did this conversion on his Mrod. I thought he did a great job, being it was made from odds and ends from parts laying around, a little machining here and there, and a bit of ingenuity. I asked him if he would like to share it with you guys, he said OK so I took these photos, here it is. I quote a paragraph he wanted to add here:

“Saw a couple of Marauder Bull Pups, so I thought I would put one together. I had QB 57, and the spring housing was pretty close to the right diameter. Ordered a stock and butt pad from Archer Airarms ($20&$16) and I was on my way. Some relieving of the stock was necessary, but the pistol grip and trough for the trigger transfer bars was already there. A 1โ€ hole saw and some quality time with a rotary file had the stock sized for the guage, air tube, and action.

With the action more or less fitted, the trigger was next. I found a Mauser trigger at a gun show that looked like it would serve the purpose and with a little grinding and drilling was fitted to the stock. Now to fill the gap in between. Some ยผโ€ brass round and aluminum bar were milled and turned to make the pieces to retain the .063 music wire bars. Lots of trial and error, it would have been easier without the guage, but I wanted to swap stocks with minimum of fuss.

On to the sights. Since the Mrod has nothing handy to screw to I had to make a bracket to hold the front end of the scope rail adapters I got from Cheaper Than Dirt ($10ea). Some measurements and a littlemore time on the mill, a usable part. The Weaver mounts came from Walmart and had a couple of nifty nylon spacers packed in. After nocking the ribs off with a Dremel they turned out to be 7/8dia x .040th,handy. The front spacer is shimmed so it just holds the rail, so as not ot distort the shroud.

The forearm is apiece of alum. T stock with a piece of plywood stuck to it. The clamps are H-D oil cooler clamps found at a swap meet (cooler and filter adapter attatched) and just happened to be the right dia. Sand them down to fit the shroud/resevior gap and thatโ€™s about it but for the fine tuning.”

Saugus18, well done! But not very neatly.. ๐Ÿ™„

I hate the original stock that came with the “Marauder”, glad to see someone mods it, bullpup style look much better ๐Ÿ˜†

So John was glad to see the reply’s on his creation. He’s currently making improvements on it. Thx for the input.

TachDriver, didn’t you get an extra Edgun stock? I have a Greg Davis tuned Marauder on order. I will have to see how hard it would be to drop it into the Edgun stock.

Well isn’t that special….an american Bullpup ! Hey Ed, you got some competition !!

Later

Great Gun!!!

A multishot bullpup. Great job.

He did a nice job. Now some bed liner on that stock and fore grip and he’s in business.
