Check out what I got my mom for Christmas
She wanted a pellet gun for shooting in the back yard so I picked this up for her for $75.63 from Pyamyd Air. It a Daisy 953 Powerline that also comes with a 5 shot clip with a 3lbs trigger pull that should get better and it shoots a .177 Gamo match at 478fps. I’m going to keep it setup with the single shot tray for now but this gun is really nice at 10 and 15 yards.

They (the 4h) have a rule which is good..that everyone has to shoot the same gun..what gets me is, why do they stick us up for $300 when you got the same gun for $75 👿
I shot an Avanti and it’s a better shooter than the standard 853 due to the wood, sights and the Walter Lother barrel. For competition you did the right thing.
That makes me feel better…she is only 10 and you should see her shooting my dpms 223…she is also on the 4h trap team….oh…how I wish there were stuff like this when I was in school…I would have given my right nut to have had the chance to shoot on a team…. 😉
Tell her it’s a starter gun, she can work her way up to a Condor 25cal

She has a bad problem with wild cats and she hates them. I think a 4fpe gun would just sting them some and not break skin at 10 yards with wadcutters.
That sounds entertaining like something I should do for myself.

I had a Powerline pump similar to that for a long time, but it was smoothbore. Killed a lot of carp with it.
Thanks Riff, she likes to sit on the patio alot and now she has something fun to do. I gotta make up some targets for her to shoot like swingers maybe some old spoons I can flatten out.

One pump. My 70 year old mom likes it and she says it a good work out for her. She shot it 10 times today…we will see.

How did you compensate for the trajectory of the pellet once it hit the water?
Like Bart said, carp like to sit right on the surface in the Summer. I just caught them when they broke the surface. Being a smoothbore, I just shot bbs out of it.
