Choosing the right scope and laser for my Talon SS
I am almost ready to order my Talon SS with extra 18″barrel, but iam not sure about the scope. First I wanted the Airforce 4-16×50 scope ($145), but i have ahard time finding good reviews. Also this scope is without a R/G reticle. On PyramydAir I found 2 leaper scopes: the 5th Gen 4-16x50AO zero-lock for $80 and the 6-24×50 varmint for $100. Can someone give me recommendation to which scope i must get? Is the extra money for the Airforce scope worth it and how useful is the lighted wire cross? Another question: I would like to get some advise on buying a lasersight. I read that the laser is used for close-range aiming and that it can be also used as a sort of rangefinder. Airforce provide theLS-1, but for much less money UTG is offering several models. Can somebody value these two manufacturers on usefullnes and quality. Some purchasers reviews shows that the LS-1 is overpriced for what he performs. And when I choose for the LS-1 pricerange, is the green light UTG Deluxe Tactical laser than a better purchase? I hope that you will/can answer my questions (so I can place my orders at last haha).

As pyrania mentioned the Bushnell Legend is a far better scope than the Airforce….
Many have bought /used and liked it here on the forum…..
I personally own one tooo.You will just love the clarity of the optics……
As far as your laser dot :
Lets say you zero your scope at 20 yards….then you should be one mil dot low to the “centre of the cross hair” for 10 yards and for other distances you can download the Chairgunpro at the quick reference section for accurate reading based on the inputs you’ve provided in the software.
The reason why you would use your lazer dot could be for a close shot or a quick shot, I guess !!!
Disadvantages :
> In broad daylight the red dot would not be clearly visible beyond 20-30 yards.
> The red dot does scare the varmint, not giving you enough time to place your shot.
> Green dots are darn expensive.
> If I have a bushy scope, and know my arc with the software…Why would I use my lazer beyond 20 yards. And for 20 yards I have the cross hair right on its centre.
I would say if you can shoot upto 30 yards or beyond…then go in for a scope and if the need arises go for the lazer.
I have mine on one of my talon and I only use it on paper targets shooting indoors….upto 10 yards max.
Mine is a 20$ cheap one from DX and does the job well….
My second one doest have one…and I really didn’t feel the need for one…
Save the bucks for a rangefinder….you wont regret it….
Nikon 440 would be good to start off…
I you have more $$$ to spend then get one which does the actual distance calculation math. (Nikon Laser 550A S)
