(ie) I was just looking into a 20mm rifle. It’s a destructive device and has to be registered as such. Ill I need to do is see if I can own it in MN. If I can, I call the dealer in FL, Give him $3k down ,he starts paperwork and I wait.
Also when owning such items, you are giving the ATF the right to check up on you. I believe, not 100% on that ,but I’ve heard it around a few gun shows.
I had C&R, u don’t need it to get the guns. It just means they can be mailed to you instead of a dealer. C&R isnt true class 3 weapons either, its usually older guns. You cant get a select fire mp5,m4,uzi, etc. You would be getting something like a reising50 .45 which will still cost $4-5k.
Look and ask around for a class 3 ffl dealer that will transfer a gun for you. Give him a call and ask what you need to do to buy the gun through gunbroker, he’ll walk you through it. It’s going to cost you his fee, plus a 200 dollar tax. It’ll also be probably a year of waiting for paperwork to go through and extensive background checks.
Easiest thing to do to figure out local laws and such would definitely be to call him and let him tell you.
I was under the impression A class 3 license is for the dealer. If you want the gun, u find a class 3 dealer. You pay for gun, dealer will get your paperwork going to ATF, u wait 4 months and see if your approved. 21 years of age, no felonies, your local CLEO will have to sign off on it, mine didn’t. Are they legal in your state? If I were you I would find a class 3 weapons dealer first, they have the most info. The ATF will give you the run around.
That’s your best bet. What are you looking for?
