Q:

CO2 Adaptor and a power drill…

hello all,
for those of you that have used a CO2 adaptor will know there is a small hole inside it for the air to flow through.

do you think that if i bored out this hole or added another of the same size on the other side of the pin i would get more PFE per shot with the same pressure reg?

thanks for that mam i will pm fastfreddie and see what info i can get there.

the potential for a failier is what is keeping me from going ahead at the moment but you had great numbers with out any trouble so i will stick to those numbers if i can get them.

there is a CNC & Laser cutting shop about 7 miles from my place. i am thinking of asking them to bore out the inside of the CO2 adapter but do not have a clue how much to cut away.

i am guessing that the area to bore out would be the valve side of the CO2 adapter from the plate that holds the pin for the regulator and the thread for the valve.

more to ask Van depending on how much info he volunteers in his reply and if he would give out this info. (it must be worth a few $ on your side of the pond)

Yea brutus, you just need to increase the volume of the adapter… I
couldn’t tell you how much to cut out.,. Would need to have someone mic
the inside of one to know for sure but, Van might give you that beings
you are not in the US but there may be a liability issue as it will decrease
the strength of the adapter giving the potential of a failure under
pressure…fastfreddie sold his to someone. Maybe he could give you a
name or contact to get the measurement from…..

Good idea brutus…. here’s his addy

and another

thanks for the reply mam.

I have been looking into that small hole on the co2 adaptor and thinking to myself i wounder why they did such a crap job with that hole. i guess that bit sticking out slightly in the hole is the grub screw you mention.

how the hell did they get that little bugger there and what is it doing i wonder.

i get great consistency for 803-805FPS but if i start adding more shims it goes out of the window from 831-817 and with that much spread i would be better off with the normal setup.

it is for this reason i have been looking at that hole in the co2 adapter. i have been thinking if the air moves more freely then surely i will get better FPS and consistency!

i will send over an email and see what info can be shared.

I want to say someone told me AirHog drills them out a bit on their regulator set up. I think it was Jeff, anyway reguardless he would know he is the regulator king!
Tag,

i am a bit confused by that post. i thought they bored out the regulator so it can take a higher psi.

i am talking about drilling another hole or boring out the CO2 adapter hole where the air passes through.

I might give it a go anyway 😆

They bore out the adapter to allow more volume and they do some work
on the AF valve to allow more flow….. The hole you are talking about
actually has a grub screw in it….. I have looked at it several times and I
can’t figure out how the air gets from the reg to the adapter…. I say call
or email Van at Airhog before you chuck up a bit….

Tag,

i am thinking the same as you but thought it might be worth asking.

Wouldn’t of thought you would see much gain If any TBH mate. The reg controlls how much air Is In that prechamber so an extra hole won’t do much I would of thought.
