Co2 Valve Stem & Tophat question (search frustration…
I know this has been asked and answered but searching for tophat, valvestem or Co2 adapter on here is like searching for the word ‘the’. I kept getting 1000+ results 👿
Trying to get the Talon SS back in good working order (before I decide whether or not to keep it 😳 ). New internals should be here tomorrow (hammer and condor weight, full trigger group, o-rings, main spring) everything but the breech and actual trigger. Tore it all down tonight to start cleaning and thought I’d check the top hat. Grub screws must have been a little lose for a while on one of the tanks as the top hat will move in and out a little without turning. I was able to turn it in a little and resecure it. I have no problem ordering a replacement but heres my question…
What happens if I replace the stripped tophat and valvestem with one from one of my leaking CO2 adapters? I’m thinking not much as the hole in the tophat can’t the functional difference between a regular valve and a Condor valve.
Or am I wrong and this is going to lead to wasted/unusable air and or mess up the valve internals somehow??

If you want to just order a new delrin seat I have a stem with top hat that you can have. Just pm me your address.
Tag,
I appreciate that but I can test with my other bottle.
I really am doing all this to get rid of the obvious flaws so I can decide if I want to keep it or not. (rifle has over 15000 rounds through it so I expect to fix some worn parts) I’ve got a 12″ barreled Talon frame on Co2 that I love shooting at closer ranges but when I point the SS on HPA or Co2 out to 30yds it’s fine for plinking, it’s dissapointing on targets/groups. Longer ranges – well… I just gave up. I’m thinking of going with something different. I’m waiting until after the edgun gets here to make that call though.
All the stuff I just ordered was like $35. AF will rebuild the CO2 adapters for about that same amount so I fiqure the valves would be about the same. If I decide to keep it I’ll just send a box full of stuff to fix back to AF.
