Combro Chrony..
If you happen to have been looking for one of these bad boys and have had no luck, heres why…
Update on the Combro cb-625 chronographs :
Taken from Robin Hewitt’s website : his words : thought to share it with all of you :
“2/2/10 Sod’s Law being what it is I got news from China about 5 minutes after I put up this web page to say there was no news. A new engineer has been found to do the calibration and they will start training him after the Chinese New Year. (To save you Googling, the year of the Tiger starts 14/2/10). Meanwhile they will send me 200 so you will get a cb-625 if you still want one. OTOH it is not enough to cover the trade orders so I am going to get moaned at whatever I do. More as soon as I have it.
12/2/10 They haven’t managed to send them yet. I think maybe they have promised too many other customers that their goods will ship before the new year celebration. OTOH they have now promised to send cb-625’s next week so, barring flood, earthquake etc., it is going to happen. I am trying to find out if they will be sending spare parts at the same time because I know a lot of you are waiting.
24/2/10 Still not sent. OTOH he did spend most of the holiday calibrating cb-625’s which are now being assembled and packaged. He won’t have forgotten that he promised to send some last week so he will be trying to expedite this and now other people can do the work. On the plus side this means I get hundreds more. On the down side I haven’t got them yet. You are probably starting to appreciate the reason why I never promise anything. If you’re waiting for case front and back or vee blocks these should be included in the shipment. I will press them for a delivery date.
23/3/10 There were more delays. When they went to assemble the calibrated pcb’s they found they didn’t have the plastic parts in stock, then there was a problem with the injection tooling that needed to be fixed. I just got an email to say they will send 765 cb-625’s today. I am hoping my next update will be due to a UK air freight company demanding £1000’s in VAT.

China rules!! 😆
Don’t know if that last part about the $1000 VAT was a joke or not, but I thought it was pretty funny. 😆
