YN, where did you get your serial to USB converter? I got mine from Radio Shack and when I use my Combro, the screen doesn’t look anything like yours. I had a hell of a time trying to get the RS software to load and run. Might need to return it and try another converter.
I’ve dealth with Robin In the past and have had nothing but cracking service. Yes I shot mine 😆 so bodged It back together with gaffa tape and It still worked 😯 😀 I sent It In after using It bodged for 3 years and It was only reading 1 FPS out 😯
Interface/Software works great on my Serial port less Vista laptop using a prolific chip based USB-Serial converter.
Just to show how good their service is – I ordered an interface the day I posted they were available, Friday May 30th (About 1pm in the UK) – It arrived in my mailbox today the following Wednesday !
I’ve seen this product before on one of these forums and it looks interesting. Wonder if the thing wasn’t alligned right it would get shot to pieces 😆
I bought a combro chrony from him a few months ago, received it in a week and the free shipping includes the US.
I’ve also emailed him a few questions in the past and he is quick to reply – good service.
Only an idiot would do that….. 😉
Or launch it on a silencer. Mine has had two or three such flights, battered but not broken. An impressively tough bit of kit.

I got a Combro from him a couple fo months ago. It took about a week to get to central il. He takes PayPal. When I ordered my Combro, he was out of the interface cables. I made my own from his diagrams.
I still wanted one of his cables and he finally got some in (he got about 30) about 3 weeks ago. Ordered mine as soon as he emailed me that they were in and got it in about a week also.
I used my Combro on an old laptop that ran XP and it ran fine. My old laptop died (no, I didn’t shoot it) and I had to get a new one. I couldn’t find a new laptop that ran XP and had to settle for one that ran Vista. The Combro’s log files don’t work too well with Vista, kinda klunky. I emailed Robin, the owner, and he said that they were not aware of the problem but would work on a fix.
Great guy to deal with and ships faster than some of the places in the US.
Yes, it would be very easy to shoot it if it was not properly aligned. I always use masking tape and a dowel rod to get it true to my shroud.
If ya find some of those real cheap for the Shooting Chrony brand let me know. Tired of writing stuff down. Too cheap to pay $20-$30. 8)

Got it from eBay a LONG time ago.
I opened up other windows such as large results and the 25 shot log and just arranged them like that – normally just shows the “Combro cb-625 Chronoscope” window.
After you get the USB-serial software installed and connected check your device settings and find out which COM port it is, then start up your combro and click setup and enter that number.
