Combro
Ok so, I got a Combro… I am not impressed with the fact that it will not
keep track of the individual shots, and will not calculate ES, or SD. You
have to press the ready button after each shot which is a pain in the azz
but if it is guarantied to be accurate to within 1%, I guess I will just have
to deal with it….
I bought the PC interface cable thinking I could run a string and then
download it to my PC….NOPE, that is not how it works….The cable has to
be connected to the Combro and the PC while you are
shooting….Aaarrrgghhhh… Looks like I need to find a cheap Laptop, or
alot longer cable, to log the shots for review….
So anyway, my EDgun is shooting 18.1gr at an avg of 904FPS with an ES
of 8 through 13 shots.. I have no idea how to calculate the SD.. I guess if
I really want to know the SD I could use the Chrony for that….

mam if you have excell and want to calculate the sd list all of the shots then in a blank cell type =stdev(“highlight the cells you entered the fps in and it will put them here”)
if you want to do it long hand multiply the square of the average fps by the number of shots and deduct it from the sum of the squares of all the shot velocities,then divide that number by the total amount of shots minus 1 and then take the square root of that number
I don’t think you have to reset after each shot, a jumper in the jack changes this (I think it works that way with just the cable plugged in, no laptop?).
And about the no memory part……in the day we used to write numbers down…..
All in all, it seems you’re asking it to do what it’s not designed to do (a quick check of MV and ME to stay legal), perhaps a Chrony is a better call.

All the gizmos on those other chonys don’t mean shit if they can’t even read true!!
And a tip for resetting it each time…A young blond bird which you supply with beer and lovin’ every couple hrs can sit up front and do it for you 😉
You are right, an accurate Chronograph is worth sacrificing a little…. I
think I got my man feeling hurt when the Combro
showed alot lower FPS so, I am mad at the Combo right now….lol… The
Chairgun responds a lot better with the Combro #’s
I just used the Chrony to get the ES and SD….
I use to be married to a blonde that would push my buttons and man am
I glad she is pushing someone else’s buttons now…. I pushing my own
buttons is alot less trouble and less expensive….lol
Too bad you didn’t check a bit before ordering. Those are all ‘features’ of the unit fully described on the web site……hey, there’s even a simulation so you can try it out first.
