Coming very close to wrapping my rifle round a tree!!!!
Hi,
Fitted a new hammer and tophat to my Stealth over the weekend and no matter what arrangement of spacers/tophat adjustment I use I’m getting massively erratic numbers over my chrono. I know the chronos good and my breech seals were only changed recently. I’ve lubed the seals an the stem (which is brand new) and checked that no air is escaping. I’ve ensured everything is seated correctly with each shot and that the tophat is bot hitting the valve face when set lowish. The variations from shot to shot are huge, I’m talking 6/21/11/9/17FPE over a 5 shot string. The bottle was not over filled and I’ve prob in testing shot 50-100 pellets through it.
All the new components are of top quality so I very much doubt the problem lies with them.
I’m at a loss as to what’s causing the prob, can any of you experts point me in the right direction or am I missing something blindingly obvious.
Thanks and any advice would be greatly appreciatted before I vent my frustration on a gun I very much enjoy (95% of the time)
Atb,
Ed

Only ever make 1 change at a time then shoot the crap out of the gun,
its easy to jump in with several new bits and then (as you’v found) end up pulling your hair out 😆
Check all the grub screws are tight, and make sure the top hat is secure,it doesn’t take much movement to screw things up,
I once had huge variances in fpe like you,I changed bottles with another stealth of mine and cured it that way, strange thing is .. the “problem” bottle works well with the other Stealth 😯 😉
