Q:

Condor .25 (Barret 50 cal Barrel end)

Hey I was wondering if anyone has thought of or made a interesting piece that would look good on the condor. What I have in mind is the very cool looking Barret 50 cal. At the end of the barrel the 50 cal has that famous looking triangle looking piece. (Not sure what its called) Just would like to know if their is anyone out there that has made something like this or can make this to fit on the end of the barrel of the .25 condor. I mean you can buy silencers and flash suppressors for the condor why not that bad a$$ 50 cal barrel end. Let me know what you guys think.

Wow dude that thing is looking nice exactly what I was imagining when I pictured it. Once I figure out what you need to make so it can attach to the Air Rifle barrel I will let you know. Thanks again I am really looking forward to making it work (Should I say when you make it work).

Thanks Walt 😀 , yep it proved to b a time consuming piece to make measuring 20mm thick by 49mm wide it looks pretty mean ! . It was bigger at 55mm wide but just looked massive when put on my BSA. Would nt fancy doing it manual , CNC made it alot easier but would need more cuts if i did it again.

If ive got time im going to put some talc powder in it and shoot it on vid in slow mo to see how the vents work 😕 . With Yamaha using it for .25 i think he will blast alot more air than i could which leads me to two questions …… how big should the hole be for clearance for a .25 slug and how the hell am i going to hold it on if his barrel is not muzzle threaded ? . Its never easy …..is it LoL.

Bubba, nice work. I thought of doing the same awhile back but don’t have a CAD rendering progam, so had to do everything by eye. I just settled on a straight port design and figured I’d try a slanted port on the next build 🙂 This was for my little 10/22.

aloha,
walt

So here it is 😀 , only part finished but has still took 6 hours to get to this stage. As i feared the milling of the vents with the 6mm cutter was a problem . The cutter hanging out 40mm flexed alot on the corners of the vents producing an undercut which im having to file out. This could be sorted with more milling cuts in the program and maybe il get the time ive spent filing the vents smooth back.

Still got to do the insert , then sand blast it which should help with the finish. Im going to try and anodise it too just to see if its possiable as its made out of scrap tool plate.
So its YamahaR1 s if he wants it , if not its open to anyone who wants to send me 2x .177 Marauder Magazines ….. there for a little project ive got on the go! 😎 .

But in NJ it would just attract attention of the unwanted kind.
I would have to hang my shield on the end of it so I did not get swat called on me! lol

Think the real Barret muzzle would be abit large at 90mm (3.5 in) long and 76mm (3 inch) wide for the stealth !

I simplified the brake and made it smaller 60mm L x 55mm W, it would take alot of machining to make a copy of the Barret . A long series 6mm cutter would be able to machine the vents.

Still think it would take at least the 6 hours to make and im thinking more 😯
Insert adds to the machining time but would be needed to allow rotation of the brake to square.

Il have ago if i get the time … just to tease everyone LoL 😀

The one on ebay for the paint ball guns is cool but the hole is built for paint balls and I think it might look funny on the condor. So I was thinking if you could make one special for air rifles that would be better I think. Proper scaleing ya know. Like make the hole 50 cal size. Then just attach it with the muzzle brake off if that’s possible. Maybe if you can do this find out the cost for materials and an average time you think it would take you. I would be willing to pay for materials and half your labor cost up front. I’m in the states so I’m not sure what 8 euro is in american? Haha. This would be a cool project if it is somthing you want/could to do. Never know more guys might want one too. Thanks again for your time.

Best regards Randall

Buy the muzzle brake off Evilbay and just get a new half inch adapter to fit the brake , looks like theres a pretty big hole through the middle for the paint balls. The adapter would have to have slots cut in the side to line up with the muzzle vents . Maybe an hour and half to two hours work … maybe 😀 looks alot better cost wise .
I wish i could get £60 😯 an hour but think £8 is more on the money 😀

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😛 😛 😛 😛

So how many hours you thinking it would take to make it? So you would charge 60 an hour? It would be sick to have one made just need to know what im looking at. Like I said I knew someone on here could probably pull it off. Here is a link of a barret end for paintball guns (lame) lol. But they do look bad a$$ just better on a condor I would think. http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390265382724
That’s the link to the dude that sales them for paintball guns maybe check em out and see what you can do. Thanks again. (PM me if you like to talk more in depth about it)

So how much would you pay ? 😯 ….hehe , i did think about making a few but there not as simple as you would think to make. To mill it out of alloy bar you would have to mill quite deep for the vents on the muzzle brake with a 6mm diam slot cutter . On top of that you would have to make it so it could rotated square to the barrel. So it would take 4 milling operations ( if you could get a long enough 6mm cutter ) plus a machined half inch adapter on a lathe. I think at least 5 to 6 hours work ( on a home cnc mill ) not including programing …… how much an hour do you think its worth ….£8 ?, plus material £3 and thats not including finishing / anondising 1 hour …..so £60 plus …. ouch ! . Which is why i dont think anyone will be making them for sale soon.

Yeah I’m sure one of these guys on here might be able to make it happen. I would defiantly pay to have one on my air rifle just for looks.

I agree that would look amazing.
