Condor Cheek Weld
Hey guys,
I am a new Condor owner coming from the Mrod and am finding it difficult to get a good cheek weld on the air rifle. It is causing my accuracy and repeatability to suffer. I love everything else about this gun but the cheek weld is preventing me from full enjoyment of such a fine rifle. Any tips I should know? I have a Center Point 4-16×50 MM scope with high rings mounted directly to the rifle. I don’t have the airforce riser. Does that make any difference?

Who makes the WOk but and around how much? I was searching around Tony’s site and could not find any.
Welcome Lee! Either the WOK but or ETAC will solve your problem. However one thing the WOK butt does is put the shoulder piece off to the side a little which was good for me. Not sure if the ETAC gives that action. Probably could combine them for the best of both worlds. Also I use medium rings.
It sounds like I don’t have too much to worry about then. I fill mine from a Hill pump.
Then you DO need to keep an eye on moisture. But wut cha gonna do?
Once every few months take the bottle and store it valve down over night. In the morning, keeping the valve facing down at all times, screw the bottle into the pump adaptor with a couple of cent pieces at the bottom of the adaptor. Screw in slowly till the valve starts to push against the cents. This will slowly depress the top hat and air (and any water) will vent out. SLOWLY though. Its easy to over do it and vent the whole tank!
But I doubt you’ll ever build up enough moisture to have enough to see on a vent.
I have a Shoebox compressor, and it will put mositure on the valve if I am not careful, I have seen it around the inside of the stem but not in the tank, I don’t know why that is and it is not in the tank, but I take the valve off regularly and check it.
Marmotmiltia sells a really nice wrench for around ten dollars to put on the collar of the valve, and you will need a bench vice that you pad with a thick peice of leather to keep from messing up the tank. The first time you take it off it is a bitch, but it does not need to be put on so tight when you replace it.
However if you fill from a scuba tank of a firehouse filled scba tank, or a pump with a moisture trap it is a non issue. It just is with me because we have such hi humidity here.

Thanks for the advice! There is a lot of misinformation out there on the web.
I was just outside plinking a little while the weather is nice. I had the power set to 2 and was shooting the Kodiaks in 22 cal. I have not chronyed it yet but they were blowing right through a 2×4 at 15 yards! Unreal how much power this has. I made the mistake the first time I shot it a few weeks ago with the power at around 4 and broke the sound barrier. Sounded like my 22 mag! Not good if you live near other houses…like I do. Can’t wait to take it out in the field on some real land!
Get yourself an eTac canted adapter, it makes all the difference in the world. as far as taking off the valve to dry the moisture out…. sounds like Hogwash to me. Only time I ever had my valve off the tank was to install my eTac.

I have read that some people suggest to remove the valve to dry out any moister in the tank. Do you fallow this procedure? How often?
Note how the stock droops on this Condor? It is because of the canted ETAC. It also gives you a fill nipple to fill while on the gun and a gauge on the other side.
Marmotmiltia a forum member makes the ETAC. They give you almost a perfect cheek weld and allow you to lower your scope and use medium rings without raising it further with a tri rail.

Nice setup! Never knew such a valve existed. I like to shoot prone and I find that is the most difficult with the airforce while trying to get a good weld.

RC, who the hell is “Walkenking” 😆 What kind of regulator is that on your 4500 psi bottle?
I like to open my bottles every so often not only to check for moisture, but to give the valve a cleaning/polishing if need be and also to do a visual inspection on the inside of that 3,000 psi potential bomb that I regularly lay my cheek upon 🙂
