Q:

Condor issue

Hello today was my first shooting session with my new to me condor after shooting 30 + shots or so i came across a shot that dropped 3-4 inches from my zero point i saw the pellet drop in my scope after awhile 5-10 shots it happened again my psi was still in the mid 2400-2500 psi range from a 2800 fill what is the cause of this is mt hammer spring weak is it normal ? I assume my hammer hit with less force causeing less fps so as an example insteada 900fps it dropped to 700 for one shot then went back to normal. Any diagnosis? I do not have a chrony so i cant shoot any strings .

Well a bit of an update it hasent happend again since i did as suggested and made sure my breech was shut all the way and seated properly. I also turned up my power wheel from 2 to 4 and noticed some improvement on accuracy i then put it at 3 1/2 and have been shooting at this setting with good results. Its hard to determine the best accuracy of my pellets due to the extreme winds i have. So far i have been useing cuda hunters with good results. Between me and my cosuin we nailed 6 hosp earlyer today 🙂

Again that is what I mean, it hard to say without a Chrony to help you trouble shoot and tune your gun.

Because it could be a loose barrel screw and not even be velocity related can’t tell if you don’t have a Chrony.
Like I said in your previous post, I like to chrony and test for accuracy at the same time.
Same speed POI change different cause(s), different speed POI change different cause(s) also.

You might what to check that all 4 barrel screws aren’t loose, if you know that the speed were the same.
I tighten the 2 bottom ones first, then the two side ones last.

It could be friction related also, hammer chatter if you know that the speed where different.

I don’t think it’s the pellet skirts being bent and or bad batch/tin of.
Border line wrong speed for that pellet/barrel combination, may need to tune slightly up or down ?

The above was determine from the aid and use of a Chrony when I was tuning my Condor SS 25 cal and Talon SS 22 cal.

There is also a little white tag on the hammer spring that can cause that issue. Mine would start to hang out the side with the power markings on it every now and then and cause similar issues. Took it out and no more problems.

Thats one possibilty.
Always fully seat the bolt onto the tophat.
Good luck

It could be so your saying after i cocked the gun and returned it to the close position i didnt close it far enough am i correct?

could it be that you didn’t pull the bolt back far enough to seat on the top hat? that will cause a soft low velocity shot.
