Condor – Max energy out of a 24" barrel
Does anyone have a chart or experimented to find out what is the maximum combination that when whatever size pellet leaves the barrel it leaves with virtually no more air to push it therefore the most efficiency ?
For Example:
30 gr pellet leaves at 950 fps. This doesn’t tell us if there was still more energy left from the air pressure had the barrell been longer or the pellet heavier.

When you say you worked your valve over what exactly did you do ?
All stock parts for condor, i have polished everything, and worked the valve over.

32 g. eunjin in .22 is the heaviest that i have found, my Condor will go 1100 fps with them, and 1155 with the 28 grain. this is 2600 psi or so, top hat around .090 and power wheel 10 . i did this in the house because it was breaking the sound barrier of course. so i dont have groups at these speeds, but i can tell ya that the 32 grain likes 980 fps the best, it does not shoot as well slower, were the 28 grain seems to not make as big of a differance , it shoots well over a larger velocity area.

I presume you have a 95 gr hammer ?
I weighed that hammer, when I got it from Tagdagger it wasn’t his 106 Gram, it was the lighter one, It is heavier than the one that came in it.
It was over 1000 grains for sure and I converted it to grams, but I can’t remember the actual weight. Most Custom Hammers or Hammer weight will work, but I Think some tanks have a good valve and some don’t. So to find out put a 14.5 grain pellet in the Condor and f it don’t crack going down field it isn’t strong enough.
I use mine on 3 numbers and 7 on the wheel. If you have the right combination it works out just fine. I have a Tony Set up on my Talondor 25 he made and it is a real slugslinger…
It is in it’s custom case and I keep it put up, I also have the Night vision set up with it. It is amazing what you cans see after dark. I keep it put up too in it’s original box, I recon you might call me a Gunaholic 😀 I got 3 vaults and a closet full, and a wife that stays on my back. But heck I’m used to it 😀
I don’t think they have anything heavier than the 28.5 grain in the 22. If I see some I’ll try them.

It takes a Chrono, today I shot after reading this thread a 28.5 EJ pellet through My Talondor with the extra weight on the hammer.
Results were as figured, shooting at a lowe’s Heavy treated 2X4 for which it shot plum through it at 20 yards,.
900.8 FPS Squared X 28.5 Devided by 450400=51.34 Foot Pounds of energy.
2400 pounds of airpressure, 24″ barrel, 22 caliber.

One measurement I know some use is psi per fpe for PCPs. They shoot a shot string with a certain pellet weight noting begin and ending pressures and chrony the string and then calculate the ratio. They are some standard numbers out there to compare to. I bet you will find more info on the YF. It might be a good way to see how efficient a valve mod or tune is. There are quite a few variables to consider.

Air gunner i polished it out,id , od thru the air hole to the top hat, radiused all edges and flowed the air hole, if you look up the link for the high flow valve from r&l i basically did what they are doing but not to the extreme they went. I radiused the hole to the back and made it somewhat oblong, but did not cut the meat out of the back upper sides as to make it weaker. barrel polished inside frame polished, i spent several days polishing the bore of the barrel.
Does anyone have stock condor fps for the 32 grain pellet to compare to. never have noticed any one posting a peak fps for the heavier pellet, most just find where they shoot the best and stay there. i had a chance to play with my condor allot when i first bought it, so i have taken it to both extremes, from 14 grain pellets at 450 fps, to 32 grain at 1100 fps.
