Q:

Condor on Nitrogen

A good friend of mine would like to purchase a Condor (22 cal) only he wants to use Nitrogen since he is in the refrigeration business and has ready access to same. I believe he said Nitrogen runs around 2200 – 2500 psi.

I remember some input regarding the use of Nitrogen with the standard Condor and the standard air tank.

He tried my condor using CO2, but needs a bit more power and he is not willing to use air at this time.

Any advice greatly appreciated including tank refill connections.

Thank you.

Nitrogen is available in 4500psi tanks and 6000psi tanks.
forget trying to use the 2015psi stuff unless you invest in a booster.

Going to want a SCBA tank eventually as those big N2 cylinders are heavy!!!!

I fill a 44cuft tank from my Nitro bottle. Works super.

I do AC too. Nitrogen is used to purge and leak test the refrigeration lines, for those that wonder. Can’t have moisture or air in the system. 😉

The standard nitrogen cylinders are rated 2015 PSI and you’re lucky if you get them with that much pressure in them. If he has an industrial 6000 PSI cylinder that would work. He could fill an SCBA from it for portability.

Joe B. would have all of the fittings and tanks he needed. The high pressure stuff is not cheap, but you probably won’t find them cheaper elsewhere.

It will work fine but he will want a lot more PSI then that.

He just needs to get his N2 hook up to his fill adapter.
