170 yds with a springer? What pellets is that gas piston rifle shooting?
I still use an old RWS Model 48, .22 springer. It defies any kind of rest except in one’s hands, where your body acts as a dampener to the recoils. Still, getting 3/4 in groups at 35 yds (.22 cal.) is nothing like the half inch (.25 cal.) groups at 40 yds the pcps regularly produce. More flyers in those springers, too.

Yes I’m a believer that if you can be accurate with a Break barrel pcp is a breeze. This was my gas piston rig. benjamin trail NP XL 1100 .22. I can nail milk jugs at 170 yards with it.
Nice shooting! I agree after spending years tuning springers pcp is much easier and having tons of power at your finger tips is funas hell also.
I’ve had the gun since Saturday and I’m shooting these groups @ 80 yards with no mods other than gap the top hat, I’m in love with this beast. Spent 2 years in break barrel magnums and this PCP is so easy!
I’m sure that scope level helps for consistency.

170 with a springer is real bragging rights! My best is 125 on a soda can with my rws 470 th. I have a 115 shot on video on a 12 oz can. Springers can be very accurate when ya learn how to hold them. Still love to shoot them occasionally but they are just so loud!
