Condor ss .25 review
Hi all, my name is Marcin. I have purchased a Condor SS from talon tunes. The gun was tuned by Tony. Thanks Tony amazing gun.
I really like this gun. A little about the gun. I have the qc top hat, Slap mod with brass striker, Both 18″ and 24″ in .25 caliber but use 18″ most of the time. 0-5000psi guage, Laser beam Flash light, UTG tactical bi pod, airforce tri rail and 4-16 center point scope( will be replaced with atn x-sight day/night scope soon). Tuned from talons the gun was doing 1000fps(jsb .25/25G). Tony did a amazing job.
1)QCTH Gun was more than perfect after it showed up from Tony but that only lasted 2 hours. I realized he drilled the big set screw to tune the velocity. So off to the shop. I ended up drilling 14 different sizes. .104,.113,.128,.136, .140, .145, .147, .149, .152, .155, .158, .160, .162, .166. I did this so I can fine tune for every pellet and different o-rings behind top hat. I plan on testing alot of the sizes and posting the fps but I pump by hand and wont be out to the range till late spring. I wont share what size Tony drilled for me to protect Tonys work so dont ask. Because I never used the original top hat I cant compare the two.
2) Silencer/ldc/suppressor. Call it what you want but I made mine from a muffler that would install on a vac pump. Best part is it just slips on and It claimed -10db. It definitely did a lot more than -10db . I am thinking due to lower pressure than a vac pump can produce? By the way the hole is 3/4in Either way the Condor SS was quiet from the box under 850fps. Now it sounds the same at 1000fps. Personal opinion the gun does not need a silencer for plinking. But due to the fact I plan on hunting at night I chose to install it. Now installing the 24″ oh boy is that sucker loud. I have 30 acres across from my neighbor and I am 100% they can hear me . Its LOUD. But with shroud it is Okay at best. And watching the videos of shrouds from tony or r&l it looks like same results. So quit telling new members that the shroud will make a condor back yard friendly. I saw one guy on youtube test with a db meter in a closed room :rofl:
3) UTG Tactical bipod. First opinion what a piece of @$%^ when installed on the airforce Sling adapter. But than I modified seems like everthing on the bipod and now its damn sturdy. It will strip the aluminum of the gun before the bipod falls off. I ended up not using a sling hole thingy but instead removed it and installed a flat head screw and put a loc nut on bipod side. I get full movement from side to side because of the loc nut not being forced all the way against the bipod. All under $60. Well worth the investment.
4) Pressure gauge. The Airfoce gauge Is made in USA by Chinese people? It was off by 300 psi compared to the pump and the new gauge. Airforce you should replace it with a 5000psi.
5) Case. The case was at homedepo on clearance $8 12/26/15. Run to your store and see if any left over. Its a Husky technician box. It holds everything.

I love to hear when a person is able to get a gun that he/she really likes. Even better I’m impressed when that someone is able to put their on personal touch, time and effort into it. That makes the gun really special! Being able to finely tune the rifle for the round and surroundings is stellar. I just love quiet!!!
While I’m on quiet, I know to some people it is just nitpicking to get hung up on simple words and in most cases I agree. In certain situations I just take a back seat for the cause. This is one of those times. It’s just my opinion, and I am a NOOB, but it seems the TAG Moderators do a fantastic job here given so many different personal taste, likes and dislikes to cater to. They have taken many lashings from those that disagree with the environment on the forum but remain steadfast to provide a place where we can truly speak our minds.
That being said the whole LDC thing has seemed to be a touchy subject. It appears in my opinion in good reason. Law makers and others search tirelessly for examples and ammunition to support their agenda and while I think getting caught up on mere words is normally infantile, I have to take that back seat here. As the arena they play in is not fair nor logical to sound thinking, it is just these type of thing they scourer tirelessly for to say “Look what they are doing, they are making _____ which could also be used on a ________ if they desire!!! Ban them!!!”. Since it’s not just myself affected but rather an entire culture, I’d rather not hand over ammunition to idiots just as I sure won’t hand them my guns. All things considered LDC is also a lot quicker to write 😀 .
I’m not asking any compliance from you just consideration of this view point and whatever you decide to call it, I will support your right to do so! ALL AMERICAN – ALL THE WAY.
