Q:

Condor SS .25 Valve issues

I’ve had my condor for about a month but have only shot maybe 500 thru it. The first i noticed was that i was only getting about 12 shots
from 3000 to 2000 psi at the lowest setting but the gun is accurate. Talked to Randy at Rl airguns and he advised me to set tophat at .092
Then I started getting about 22 to 25 shots from 3000 to 2000 psi. I’ve only had one session with my Chrony and the readings were around 930 fps
with Jsb 25.4 kings at lowest setting. I noticed that my readings at times would have a difference of 100 fps but was’nt really too concerned cause
i was’nt sure if thats the gun or the chrony. I also noticed that my poi would change by just refilling the tank but i was’nt shooting over the chrony all
the time so i could’nt diagnose it. This morning i noticed that the poi has changed again so i removed the tank to check the top hat gap. It has moved
again and ive loctited it in the past so went on to adjusting it. Shot the 1st shot and sounded normal. Shot #2 sounded like a red ryder and didnt even
push the pellet out. Tried again and same thing.I noticed that the valve was pushed all the way down. Called Randy and off to UPS. Just wanted to
share my experience and see if anyone has had similar with the new condors ss. Also my pressure gauge is 300psi off compared to my scuba tank gauge.
also the valve has a very soft wall. You can see the set screws creating little bumps inside.

Just got the damn tank yesterday. Installed it just now and fired off a round and same shit. I’ve had this gun for a month
and its been in the ups truck most of the time. 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿

Pry the valve stem out, and put some silicone grease on it and then put it back in. Don’t worry about the air in the tank, the tank seal will hold the air in, worry more about not bending the valve stem. Also polish the stem when you have it out.

I stand with Lurk the TT One Piece Top Hat with inserts on my gun is Extraordinary. Don’t forget the Hammer Slap Mod too…what a difference.

May cost you a few extra bucks but it is worth every penny. The quality is superb. Ask anyone.

They already know and have had the larger o ring in them for a while now.

i’ll order it on monday. But just curios, it was’nt the top hat itself that failed right. It’s the valve underneath the top hat.
On TT website he has an oring mod. Is that the one inside the tank?

Right…The TT mod is more than just adding a heavier oring. Tony bores out the recessed grove in the brass valve stem guide. But don’t tell AF. 😆

It’s a lot like chasing one’s own tail 🙄

We keep getting closer but the ultimate goal is always just a little out of reach 😕
I love the chase but when I look back to where I’ve been and look at the pile of useless data I’ve collected, I feel like kicking myself in the ass ❗ And knowing that I’m not there yet 😥

Consider the 500 pellets shot up with somewhat less than the optimal settings or improvements. Wouldn’t you have rather used them for more accurate shooting practice ❓ Like shooting with your eyes closed, you might accidentally kill one rat but all the rest are are are nibbling at your toes 😯

There will still be a little setup process with the TT One Piece but onec you have your data for each pellet, you shouldn’t have to worry about grub screws loosening, dimples and bent stem from over tightening and wasted shots.

Oh, IMO, unless you have something like a custom .257 valve, the Power Wheel set to “0” usually injects another range of inconsistency. It helps with the trigger pull bit is often to little to open the valve fully. It’s another balancing act of valve opening consistently vs flyers caused by slight deviations in trigger pull at higher settings vs valve return spring and of course decreasing tank PSI. If not shooting nearly every day, I need mine lower than optimal, so I don’t pull shots. And, I’ve found my valve is more consistent if my PW is set to nearly 3 for the PSI I typically use. It should probably be higher for a full tank.

I am definitely going to get the a one piece top hat but just wanted to play with it stock for now. Get some numbers over the chrony
and that way i can see the difference for myself. This case i think its more inside the tank .

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME with the AF Valve Stem ❗

Been there, done that. To much can go wrong when you least expect it ❗

TalonTunes One Piece VALVE Stem takes all the OH SHIT out of a finicky week AF valve stem.

problem eliminated ❗
