Q:

Condor SS- Info

Thought I might share a little info I have with my Condor SS I have been working on for the past few weeks… Still have a few things to do just yet but its shootin’ really nicely and I had to set the top hat to .041″ to keep the EJ’s under sonic crack… Which works good for me, actually way more than I ever expected.

POI has been really good on the 25 yard range out the back of thye shop, has been to windy to shoot it for longer distance as I had hoped for Saturday. The 25 yards range has been ragged hole when I did my part.

Really cool thing I have noticed has been the short 12″ barrel sure seems to shoot the solid Rounds “Type-F” shot really well also at 25 yards which the 24″ barrel never really liked at all… Least with a good fill pressure, they do start to sonic crack a little and this was after 10-15 EJ’s fired first after the top off of the tank…

Shoots the Piledrivers way better than the 24″ barrel ever did also. The Piledrivers are like way hard hitting suckers along with the EJ’s@28grains and the Piledrivers@30grains and trying to keep these under 1100 fps was way too cool LOL… The only bad issue I have with the Piledrivers has been the POI of them has been 3″ left of the basic POI of everything else I shot with the only difference for the most part being high and low differences…

Now all this may be blown out the window once I get to stretch the range on out from the 25 yards in the backyard out the back of the shop… Will be shootin’ at P. Dogs this next week if things all work out right, some of the P.Dogs could be way on out there also. Sure have been excited to see the numbers on this shorter 12″ barrel…

I have been working on the baffles I have made to help the loud report of this rifle and have that well under the control as well. Have one of the one piece baffle setup that shrpshotr(Don G) makes coming soon also…

The short fit and feel of this rifle is nothing short of just flat awesome either. In how this rig swings and points is killer as compaired to the longer 24″ cannon I had before…

Here is a few PIC’s of what the handmade baffles look like and how they stack out…

This next one if you note the smaller blind hole drilled in the side of the muzzle end baffle, its to help the set screw hold the end piece in the frame, turned out to be harder to do than one might think with a bunch of pieces from Delrin LOL…

Maybe this will help those that might want to give this a try themself with an idea of what will work somewhat, its nothing like having a single piece baffle setup like from Shrpshotr LOL… Its crude and chewed out and done with simple hand tools and a cordless drill and bits…

Rowdy, I LOVE that Avatar!!!!!!!!
