I have Tony’s top hat in my .25 SS it is great. With out it at 35 yards it would put a huge dent in my steel plate. Now it will put a huge dent and split the plate. Not go through it but split it so you can see light. My SS is more for pest and hunting so a little more power is better. Just for plinking I have a Talon SS in .22

Buying a new gun in the midst of winter kind of sucks! Sub-freezing temps and snow and I am relegated to taking shots indoors trying various weights of ammo and recording chrony numbers. Beating me up that I can’t get out and sight this gun in at distance.

I received my tri-rail needed for scope height and was a little surprised I could get by with the medium BKL rings I already had, I will add that this rifle takes some getting used to for shooting comfort,, and I’ll probably be doing more cheek-weld experimentation along the way.

Right now, as I hand pump, I’m hoping to be able to get the most shots per fill for accuracy with what ever weight pellet does well. From all my reading of others experiences I’m thinking (and hoping) there’s going to be more than a couple choices of ammo this gun will shoot well.
I’m shooting with a .060″ nylon washer behind the factory un-adjusted top hat and with the PW set at 0, 2650psi, the 14gr CP chronied @1045fps, AA 16gr @1008, JSB 18gr @939, heavier ammo came with the recent order, PW still set at 0, 2500psi, H&N 21gr @972, JSB Monster 25gr @925 and the JSB Beast 34gr @853. I realize these aren’t “string numbers” but I’m hopeful I should be able to get some decent shooting from this gun looking at my first tests. I also would like to not need the added expense of the custom top hat if I can shoot well without it…..but will cross that bridge if necessary.
Thanks for any additional thoughts and experiences with .22 shooting.

I have a condor .25 as well. I agree to take it out and shoot the hell out of it before considering to mod. Its pretty powerful and accurate in stock form. My FB page has members who have done amazing things to their Airforce’s. I enjoy reading about the mods, .357 cal slugs, maddog stocks, bigger bottles, and so forth, but enjoy mine stock. This leaves more money to buy more pcps!

I have a condor ss in .25 and I just put a TT quick change top hat in it. That is the only mod I have done. Well besides making a little better shoulder stock for it. I can take out tree rats at 75 yards no problem. Even before the top hat. The top hat just gives me a little more power for hunting at longer rang.

:tag: Other than a LDC to make it backyard friendly, just shoot the thing to get to know it first. Maybe invest in a chronography and try different pellets to see which ones group best with your particular gun at different power levels/fps.

.22,target maybe some small game or pest control.

:tag: I would just shoot the hell out of it and get use to the gun before messing with it. What cal. do you want and what do you want to use it for? Hunting is a lot different then just paper killing.
