Q:

condor ss velocity

Hello everyone. I am new here and just recently got back into hunting with air guns and bought an mrod 25. I am going to pick up another pcp and started looking at the condor ss in 25 and wanted to know if anyone could post what the typical velocity and accuracy for the condor ss is with a stock setup. I shoot coons and coyotes and the mrod in 25 has been great but the condor looks like a lot of fun to play with also and seems to be a little higher in power so i was hoping someone here could confirm this and that they are good for accuracy also. thanks in advance.

Thank you Randy and it is those types of comments that make me want one to play with  You are very accurate in the description of the .25 mrod for not ever having one or shooting one. Mine is tuned to shoot jsb kings at 880 and it is louder than the 22 mrod i have shot. Looks like i will just have to find some cash to get one.

I never owned or shot a .25 Mrod but I have owned and shot the .22 and .177’s. I hear the .25 is louder than the .22 and if that is the case then my .25 Condor SS is probably quiter than the .25 Mrod. However I have mine tuned to shoot around 900 fps with JSB’s. With factory stock settings it was over 1000 fps and it was a little loud but it was still accurate out to 50 yards. Since I turned it down it is more accurate and VERY quiet. The Condor is also more compact and lighter. The Mrod is multi-shot and factory stock shoots around 850 or so for 16-24 shots from what I have read on various posts. I get 40 plus shots out of mine. I’m glad I got the Condor SS. Can you tell I really like it. 😀

yes on both counts, lighter and shorter.
Get a WOK trigger for the Condor. It will love you for it. 😀

Thanks for the info. Yes i dont want max power as you usually lose accuracy and things get loud but just curious if they run a little faster with the same results typically and about the same shot count or better than an mrod 25. i was hoping for comparable noise levels between the two but i guess you can always add mods to get it quieter. whats the difference between their size? i think the condor is a little lighter correct? is it shorter than an mrod?

My .25 Condor SS is shooting JSB’s at change over 875fps. My .25 Mrod shoots 850. These speeds are what I set them at for efficient shot count, not to see what maximum FPS could be. 😀

Both guns are getting about the same number of shots having done some tuning to both.

Mrod is a whole lot quieter. 😯

Both have about the same accuracy at 50 yards in 8 shot groups.

The Condor carries a little better group accuracy out to 100 yards.

Trigger on the Mrod is much better than the Condor SS and the Condor SS is much better than the older triggers.

Condor is a good 10″ shorter.

I shoot my Condor more.
