Q:

Condor Tank on 18" barrel – yes or no?

Need input. I have a .25 caliber 18 inch barrel on one of my 2 Talons. This barrel is not coming off – it’s staying there because the length, weight, and total package is exactly what I want.

I will not be buying a 24″ barrel for this unit which is now my go-to rabbit gun.

Given that, I’d like to know if what the velocity gain on the 18″ barrel would be by installing a striker weight and a Condor Tank on the Talon.

This would be a permanent addition – ie. the way the gun would be set up and used all of the time. I’ll play with other stuff on the other gun.

Would this be a worthwhile thing to do? ❓ Thanks!

if im right u cant use rimfire ones the rifleing is to deep. I could be wrong but thats what I was told

There are a bunch of .25 rimfire guns on the CGN site. If I could find out for sure they would work for a .25 pellet I would grab one of those and machine it to fit.

Jack – I’ve bought all of my barrels from Airforce direct: http://www.airforceairguns.com/ Unfortunately for us Canadians, most of the big dealers like Pyramid won’t readily ship to us.

I do know that they are about 4 weeks behind on deliveries – I waited over 7 weeks for my .25 barrel, but it got here!

I’ve not tried TalonTunes yet, but I surely will next round!

Thanks so much, guys!!!

try talon tunes or pyramid air airforce just put out some new .25 cal barrels. i have made a ton of purchases from talon tunes and tony’s work is great. once you go .25 you wont come back to .22.

Top of this page there is a big red ad that says talon tunes, click on it and look at air force porn. He can hook you up. Call him and tell him what you need

Thanks, guys. That’ll be the route I go, then, for sure. Where can I get this Talontunes hammer?

Shaggy is the second guy who’s mentioned that. I know the striker weight is available at many places.

Yes, yes it would 😀

You’ll use a bit more air if you want near 24″ barrel performance, but you can push the Kodiaks at optimum speed( 850-950fps) or the Kings at optimum(850-1000fps) no problem.
And you’ll still get a decent shot count. :thumb:

I use a 12″ barrel on myTolon-ss and My Stubby home made Talon 25 12″ barrel. I get in the high 50’s Foot Pounds of energy.
That 25 of yours needs a Condor tank, with the extra hammer weight or the heavy Talontunes Hamer, You get less noise out of the one peace Hammer. The accuracy is way ahead of the 22 rifle.
I had to use a 12 inch 22 Barrel on one of my Talons cause with the 24 inch barrel, it went Hypersonic with the wheel turned plum down. Too fast,.
18″ would be about right on that 25 it should be hitting in at least the 60’s in foot Pounds with a 3000 pound fill, with no sweat. 😀
