Condor vs. Talon ss on noise level

😕
I have 2 Delrin inserts I am willing to part with… both work great, I have more shrouds then I have guns. they are for a Talon SS, made by Subsonic
I copied this design from my marauder.

This one I made out of copper end caps I found at home depot. I soldered them together (I know, lousy job) the red band is tape I wrapped around the ends to center the insert.
First, I drilled 5/16″ holes in the center of each one. Next I stacked one on top of another, and put a 5/16 dowel in the center to hold them in place while I soldered them together.
When the assembly cooled down, I wrapped the ends with the tape equally until the diameter was the same as the I.D. Of my frame, measuring each wrap.
I had to take a piece of 1″ O.D. vinyl tubing and cut a piece to take up the play in the length of the frame.
It does make the rifle a whole lot more quiet.
Hope this helps
I found it on Youtube, made with washers, O-rings and spring wraped in a scotch-brite like material if I remember right, check out Youtube.
Hey johns2000 can you tell how you made this baffle. Can you post pictures of the baffle .Thanks.
An o-ring behind the top hat may help…but it could also cause more consistent shot strings and lower air use. Then too, you may have to adjust the top hat out slightly to obtain the same fps.
Powderburner is an expert on use of the o-ring.
Because of your head against the tank you are the only one to really hear it.
That’a what I wanted to know. Is there a good effective way to quite the the hammer or tank ping? I have a Talon SS which has a home-made baffle and is very quite except for the hammer hitting the tank?
if they both have a Good shroud on them all you hear is hammer and tank ping, with out a shroud on them the condor sounds like a .22 rim and the ss is just BARLY quieter…. as in with out shrouds they are both too loud to shoot in an urban back yard
Condor 22 24″ on a TSS tank at 1500psi is the same noise as a stock TSS 177 12″ using the same 1500si tank.
If you’re asking out of the box, the SS will be quieter.
If both have shrouds, depends on whose shroud.
Shorter barrel = less efficient = more air loss out the barrel = louder report.
I have both a Condor and an SS. Condor has a shroud. SS has an insert.
Condor = 78db at the muzzle
SS = 89db at the muzzle

drill holes in the body , then wrap the thing with sheet felt.
