Q:

Condor W/ 12" .22 barrel velocity figures needed please

Anybody have FPS figures for a STOCK condor with 12″ .22 barrel shooting Kodiaks? Trying to set up my new rig w/ chairgun2 and don’t have access to a chrony yet.

Stock Condor
12″ .22 barrel
2900 psi fill
PW =8/1

Please post PW setting during string also, so I can duplicate.

I appreciate any help given, thanks.

Thanks, poor George will most likely be happy to be out from under the microscope now.

Thanks for the info Randyhub, I appreciate it (or, in my best George Bush keyboard accent “a aprishi-ate tit”).

Thanks Mike I will try out it power in the field soon. 😀

RANDYHUB-Couple of questions if I may.

1. What bipod is that? Looks nice and compact

Bought off Ebay around 40.00 drilled and tapped a 11mm riser block for the bipod mount nothing permanent.

2. Your grip, I have seen it before. What is it and how well does it mount?
Did you have to perform major surgery or stuff it full of fairy wings or
anything crazy to get it to fit properly?

It is a AR-15 grip Panther off EBay 40.00, I did have to fit it to my Condor and 40 mins of work and made a new beefier trigger guard that fits into the notch of the pistol grip way more rigid then just a bolt.

3. Your muzzle break, if its metal (and not delrin), where did you get it.

The break on the .25 is a RWS (40.00) from Arizona Air if I rmember right they are steel and hollow with a threaded endcap but they are getting scarce for obvious reasons.

Thanks in advance for for reply.

ps. Your scope shade is longer than a whore’s dream.

Yeah I put on the long shade just for a little more bling. 😆

Nice build and finding parts. 8)

You should have plenty of knock down power. Try some Kodiaks as well. They’ll be in the 900s which is plenty good. 😉

I think you’ll like the short set up.

Well been out of town for a few weeks and finally got a chance to do somemore testing on my Condor SS project.

I will start testing the 12″ barrel accuracy hopefully this week with the 6 power MilDot scope but in the mean time here are the chrony results.

2700 psi fill using a custom 90 gram brass hammer PW set at 7 a 12″ .22 Lothar choked barrel and the newly designed Condor hi-flo valve recorded the following results.

1. 14.3 grain .22 Crosman HP recorded an average speed of 981.5 fps (the .22 24″ barrel pushed these pellets in the high 1200’s)

2. 28.4 grain Eun Jin .22 recorded an average speed of 824 fps

3. 32.0 grain Eun Jin .22 recorded an average speed of 804 fps

So I just need to determine whether the low pellet speeds will be alright for pesting.

Project build costs for the Condor SS:

1. Scope 65.00 USD

2. Used 12″ Lothar barrel 44.00 USD

3. Bushings that I vented 12.00 USD

4. SS Endcap c/w Oring 10.00 USD

The endcap and vented bushings make this AG WAY quieter 😀

.22 12″ and 24″ notice the difference in barrel OD!

Great album!!

Hey why there is no rock on Emoticons???

It is a great album Rexxwood, album that started “Heavy Metal” (I don’t want to hear anything about it being Iron Butterfly, either). If you look close to this album cover though, the cloaked lady is holding a fully outfitted Talon SS…………..must be some magpies nesting up in that spooky looking tree.

I have a 24″ barrel, with my talon tank TH set at .066″ and the power wheel around 5, I get just above 1000 with JSB’s. PW at 6-7, I get kodiaks at 950 fps. If I change to my 12″ barrel without adjusting anything, Kidiaks go 760 fps.

Thanks Bikini. So let me make sure this is right……………..My condor with a 12″ barrel and the PW on 11 is shooting kodiaks 100fps faster than your talon with a 12″ barrel on 6-7?

Does the condor valve and hammer weight really make that much difference over a talon setup? If so, wow!

No 24″ for me.

I think my tophat is at .059″

Hey WOK, do have numbers for the 24″ barrel along the same fill and PW lines as your previous post?

Also, what measurement are you running your tophat at?

Again, your sharing your info is much appreciated!!!

Thanks for the info WOK, much appreciated. I did the “what, no chrony” calculation per chairgun2 measuring the drop from two distances and came up with 860 fps. I am most impressed that this firgures out at 34.6 FPE with only the 12″ barrel, and also the POI only drops -6″ @ 77 yds with a zero of 35yds.

Should be dialed in shortly!

Again, thanks for the info.

stock condor with 12 inch barrel only difference is i had a fill of 2700psi
not 2900 because i get better fps at 2700 psi fill. with a 2900 psi fill its usually 75 to 50 fps less than shown here. need to put my heavier hammer if i want to get better fps at 3000 psi. these numbers are the average of a 3 shot string

.22 cal kodiak power wheel at 8
700 fps

.22 cal kodiak power wheel at 12
870fp

Eun Jin .22 Cal, 28.4 Grains
power wheel at 10
770 fps

Eun Jin .22 Cal, 28.4 Grains
power wheel at 12
810 fps

My 12″ Talon SS shot Kodiaks at 750FPS and 850fpw CP’s
