Condor w/AirHog slowly falling apart
Okay finally went PCP this last Jan and have been impressed but. About two months ago the safety on my Condor no longer works. Its just stuck in the fire position (I know, some people might think of this as a blessing but I am always weary of having any type of weapon without a safety.
Also, now whenever I try and cock the bolt in the open position, it takes 2-4 times before it locks in the open position. Also, I have gotten my fill pressure with the chrony (2450/fires .22 Kodiaks at 1030 fps at PW 7/7). Problem is, recently the fill pressure now seems to be around 2300. I did make a small mistake of trying to adjust the tophat and noticed that I tightened the screws a bit much and made a small indention on the inside of the tophat. Figures I ended up putting the tophat back at .084.
I am a bit disapointed in my Condor. I have an RWS 460 Mag .22 and the craftsmanship is outstanding but it just wont fire heavy pellets. Lastly, I would like to see Kodiaks at about 1000fps with the power wheel on 4. As it is I have to use the wheel on 7 or above and it makes it loud even with the shroud. It gets really quiet at around PW5.
Given the money I spent on this rifle I am considering sending it to get tuned and then not mess with it. Any ideas?

You don’t need part 186. Another design doesn’t even have it… not sure if its the old or new style.
Okay, I got it. Just took the damn safety bar out. Tried doing what was recommended but just couldnt get the safety to catch. Took it out and it works fine. I will send it for a tune in a month or so.

Okay, finally tore her down and cleaned her up. She really wasn’t that dirty as I keep her out of the weather indoors when storing.
Anyways, thanks to the people on this forum I am now able to confidently tear down and reassemble my condor.
The final outcome is still low velocities (PW 4/ 940fps/2200psi). But the big thing is that the safety does not operate correctly. As a matter of fact it is downright dangerous. Yes, I looked at the diagrams and photos and put it exactly how it should be. Here is what happens. After I cock and lock the rifle, I push the safety forward but it does not click, I can then fire the rifle fine. BUT, if I accidentally pull the trigger and then try and push the safety forward the rifle fires! Then this last time after cocking and loading the rifle, I went ahead and pushed the safety forward (without pulling the trigger) and the dam thing goes off, goes through the sheetrock, out the other side in my living room, through my blinds and put a good hole through my front window 😯
I think my best bet is to send it to Talon Tunes. I am going back to my springer until I can send it to Talon Tunes (unless I can get some advice on what is wrong).

Really easy to pull apart and reasemble. Its one of the attractions of these platforms. Do like the guys say and it will be shooting sweet again. 😉
take it apart and clean everything it sounds like you are full of dirt, lube up with divers silicone or just replace the breach o rings, pull the valve stem and clean and use a wee bit of the silicone on the stem, if you have the new valve then lube the o ring in the retainer, put it all back together and see if it helps.
I showed one of my Soldiers my two rifles this past weekend and let him fire both. He really liked the craftsmanship the Diana had but preferred the Condor. I was shooting fairly even with the Condor up to 60yds. Then I showed him what the Condor did at 110yds 😯 He was sold.
Anyways, just a short while ago while out on the back porch I noticed that the PW will not go below 2 ❓ What gives? No matter how hard I try (yes I tried going all the way up to 13 and then back down but it still stops at the PW 2? What could this be? Jeez, did I get a lemon 🙄

It sounds like your breach o-rings need to be lubed (probably too late for that) or replaced. If the gun gets louder above PW 5 and it is shooting below the speed of sound (1,030 is not near that), and it’s hard to cock it open, you have a leak (not in the valve). Disassemble the breach and clean that area out and inspect o-rings. It should be shooting a little faster than 1,030 w/Kodiaks at 2400-2500psi. Mine shoots 1,000fps with 2100psi and PW 0.
Try not to leave your gun outside – it ‘ll get dust inside everywhere and slowly degrade performance. Keep it in a closed case. AF guns are not high-end guns and despite what many people say, they need maintenance & cleaning regularly. Mainly because we are shooting lead out of them at high velocities, plus there are openings everywhere where dust can settle.
I have Diana Springers too and enjoy shooting them and the feel of them. They are great guns with excellent German engineering & craftsmanship. This is why I will never get rid of Springers. I like the solid feel of a good Magnum Springer and the way they shoot. PCP’s are more like expensive gadgets. I bet there is not much you can’t “take” inside 50yds with the 460, that the Condor can.

I would say ya have a gun needing some love.
These guns are 75% in the bottle and valve, I personally have yet to go there yet[I work too much].
I bet you could take the thing apart and clean her up a bit if you are mechanically inclined.

For you, getting a tune at this stage would probably be a good choice .
TT does the best work, my choice, but their are others. If it makes you feel better my stem has 2 dents in it, and I still have more power than I usually need. Not only can TT make it new again, it will be better than the factory set it up. Remember they deal in volume. What you could use now is better performance.

186 is the old way of doing things, 180, 82,and 84 are all the same spring, you need one more of them to put in the place that 186 is in, also the safety wire thing (178) is in the wrong place in that and all pics on that page, it goes in front of the small horizontal spring (188) so when you push on it it is pushing against metal not spring.
