confuse new part in new airforce hand pump
i buy a new airforce hand pump but it looks so difference to the old one,especially this part,do for what function in the pump? anyone know this part?

It looks like an air intake filter. Helps keep clean air only enters the pump
I want to know it is do for what? anyone?
Theres a accesory sell by Af or others manufactures wich go replacing that bolt.

in other words air into the pump it’s from this part ?
