Q:

Consistency: the PRACTICAL test…

A while ago, there was a very interesting thread here where we talked about the various ways of calculating consistency, and the (sometimes) complex math involved in this “scientific” process.
http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12770

There i expressed my opinion saying that the best (and most fun) way to check out consistency, is to forget about crony numbers, all the math shit, and just take a lot of shots at the same target and check out the group.
Well, today i did exactly that with my rig, and i wanted to share the results with you guys.

This is 21 shots, using 21g kodiaks, @ 40 meters (about 44yards), using the bipod in prone position. Day was slightly windy.

As you can see, there was a single flyer wich hit a litte higher that the rest of the group.
Fill preasure was 2800psi, end preasure was little over 2300psi, wich tells me i could have gone for a 30 shot string.
Velocity was an average of 910fps

Sorry i dont have any US currency to use as visual reference, so i placed the cap of a coke bottle as reference.

This test tells me, that for AT LEAST 21 shots, @ 40 meters i can be CERTAIN that the gun is capable of hitting within one inch.
No math required. 😎

what you guys think?

i like it 🙂

I agree… just hit your target over and over again.

I was shooting a 177 SS with 10.6gn Kodiaks. Start pressure 2500psi, PW5.0 and I was hitting a soda can base (2.6″ diameter) at 50 yards from the sitting position. End pressure was about 1300psi with a 60 shot string.

Yeah but, anyone could do it like that. 😆

Thanks guys, glad you liked it.

Bonestock: PW was at 5, TH at about 0.09. But this condor has a talon valve (not factory hiflo), the hammer weight removed, and a few adjustments.

P.S. Jeff, if you and the other guy “LoveMyTalonSS” dont change your avatars, im gonna go blind, or grow hair on my left hand (im left handed).
That babe shure has one sweet pair of… eyes and the one on “LoveMyTalonSS” avatar…. mhhh yummy 🙂

Very nice for a 21 shot group. What was your power wheel and th set at?

Thats what I do. I chrony test also but when I want to see how many shots per fill I get, I shoot a target.

Edit: That is impressive for 21 shots!

I like the Keep iT Simple concept?

Sam

i like it too

definitely minute of ground squirrel, or crow!

good shooting
