Q:

constant poi shift need some advive

hey guys new guy here , my problem is with my condor that i have a tony modded tank on it without the hammer weight,every time i will fill my tank to 2800psi shooting js 18.1 around 932 fps.i will shoot my target out at 50 yds , i will get a ragged hole maybe 3/4 or tighter groups, i know once psi goes down groups will open up.then i will take the tank out, fill back up, then shoot but my poi will be completely diffrent,bigger with several fliers in the group im shooting.i tried cleaning my barrel with pull through cord with patch,doesnt help much.i put teflon tape on my bushings to make snug in frame.my shroud isnt clipping.not my scope, i tried two diffrent scopes with same results. i was thinking of maybe getting a tri rail and put it under where forearm is to stenghten the frame.or maybe cleaning my barrel really good with bore paste as i had the gun since april and have only been doing cleaning with cord lol.any advice would be appreciated thanks.

try the quarter and a few dollar bills

Yup take that and buy a caliper set 😆

try the quarter and a few dollar bills

lol hhaahh ill try sticking a few of the things you said airgunner just to see.wow just tryed fitting a nickel between the top hat it wont fit so i guess my top hat setting is at .75 or .74

dollar bill = .003
dime = .056
penny = .059
quarter = .066
nickel = .075

thanks guys for the replys apperciate it ,powderburner ,i have my pw set at 4.7, i dont have anything to measure my top hat yet. and andy ill try the low psi , gotta wait till i get tp pa, this sucks sitting and wodering ,and not eing able to shoot,haahaha this condor turned into quite the obsession of mine.

Well i am going to take a guess here, yes you can fill much lower and be better off , with lighter pellets the lower the fill, in general , you can fill to 1900,2000 to peak 14 grain pellets in the 900;s,

fill to 2000 to 2200 to peak 18 grain in the low 900’s , the only reason to fill higher is shot count , and the larger the shot count , the more inconsistent, and the more the groups will move around on the target, more at longer ranges.
Now if your shooting 1″ or so groups this will not come into play so much, because even with the group moving because of psi change , the groups might not vary over 1″ to 1 1/4″ at 50 yards or less. but if your shooting 1/4 ” groups you will see the shot group move center,go high left then come back down lower to the right, back to center, then move low right. yours might go a little differant, but this is what my gun does.

So i eliminate all this by dong a short fill , with 20 to 30 shot string.

Back to my guess, you probably have your power wheel up real high and your string is starting out peaked and it falls from there, so at lower psi tank pressure your running to much power wheel and it is making you shots inconsistent, ???

What is your setting, top hat and power wheel,

My setting for 18 grain pellets into the low 900’s are top hat around .090 , power wheel 3.5 , fill pressure 2100

This is all of coarse is you don’t have a mechanical problem, and hey , are you sure your top hat is not loose. or moving.

I have a long story to tell you how I found this out but I’m at work right now and don’t have the time. After a lot of aggravation wasted time trying to get my condor setup to at least hit the paper at 50 yds I figured I had a valve problem and was going to keep shooting to empty the tank. After about 20 shots from a 3000 psi fill, I started to hit the bull one after another.
I kept shooting for about another 25 or 30 shots and was still hitting the bull.
I took the gun down to the basement to run a couple shots over the chrony and to my surprise I was still shooting at 912 fps. I then took the tank off and hooked it to my pump to see what pressure was left, I was down to 1400 psi and it was still shooting great.

I have not had a chance to do a complete study on this yet but I think I have found My guns “sweet spot”, 2800 psi might be to high of a start point for your setup to.

I would be very interested to know if it works for you.

lmaao, i got the name from sat night live,burt reynolds sketch.

😕

Turd, is that really you…?

Do you do metal reports? 😯

As in Along the Watchtower and TFMetalsReport? 😀

kk thanks i will try that,sucks cause i live in new york shitty wont be able to test right away.

Loosen you bushing set screws and then retighten them evenly and snug them up good.

They can come loose over time
