Crazy Idea for a MAR177

Convert it to a .30. Did some reading- there’s not much out there, so I don’t have much to go on. I’m going to get one eventually, but it’ll have to wait a bit. I’ll enjoy it in stock form for a while when I do. Just kicking this idea around. Not sure why. So supposedly it’s similar to a Disco. I’m thinking the valve might be able to be switched out to a modified Disco valve. Don Cothran is working on one to push large slugs using air from a Disco sized tube. His numbers look pretty awesome (“700ps with a 232 gr .357 Caliber bullet on a 26″ barrel”!). I’m thinking if these things are close enough to use Disco parts (DC’s valve is supposed to drop right into a Disco), Then maybe I could drop one of his valves in, modify a TJ .30 barrel to fit, and run a modified disco mag (the MAR uses .177 Mrod mags, and someone at “airgunlabs” makes the converted .30 mags). I’d also have to modify the bolt to use w/the .30, maybe have a longer reservoir made. Again, just an idea. Just bench building a rifle. It would be kinda cool to use for long range position shooting, and also pretty cool (I think) for long range critter killing. It’s a platform we’re all familiar with too. Again… Just daydreaming. 😈
