Q:

Cricket .25 Chrony data with Kings and Polymags.

I’d say I got very lucky with this gun. It came to me this way, I’m finally running the chrony data on it this morning and this is what I got-
With .25 Predator Polymags, 230bar fill, falls off the regulator at 115bar, giving me 53 shots.
High Velocity- 920fps
Low Velocity- 905fps
Average Velocity- 912fps
Extreme Spread- 15fps
Standard Deviation- 2fps!

With .25 JSB Kings, 230bar fill, falls off regulator at 115bar, giving me 54 shots.
High Velocity- 927fps
Low Velocity- 912fps
Average Velocity- 918fps
Extreme Spread- 15fps
Standard Deviation- 3fps!

If you want to see shot-to-shot velocities, look at the picture in the post below. Didn’t feel like typing ALL that.

Boy do I get lucky when it comes to buying used guns. I ran shot strings on my Prod bull pup the other day and that gun is amazingly consistent for a Prod- Its completely stock besides maxing out the Hammer spring. With .22 Polymags its shooting 637fps average, 15fps extreme spread, and 4fps standard deviation for two magazines. With Beeman FTS its shooting 665fps average, 12fps extreme spread, and 3fps standard deviation for two magazines.

Jim Shelden be2-4v1 at 220 volt its going to be a garage compressor , And the way I use it , It seems it will outlast me, Ha,
about 1700 to my door,
Its 2 hours and 35 bucks each time I fill up, So I will make my money back in a few years, 😀 😀 😀
I know I will do a lot more shooting, With my own air,
Mike

Have you narrowed it down to what compressor yet Mike?

Sounds like you got lucky, I have some ,25 and .22 polymags and some H&N hollow points , Just never tried them in my two crickets, I did a lot of pellet changing when I got my .25 Marauder a year or so ago, I was always having to adjust the scope, And the POI changes a lot on the Marauder anyway,
On my Crickets I just shoot the JSBs like crazy,,, Some day I will get around to the polymags and the hollow points ,
In a few weeks I will have my own air compressor so I am sure my shooting will change a little, I may need to order more pellets.
Glad you got some good shooters , But I think a bad Cricket is a rare animal
Mike

Mines the same, Kings and polymags are neck n neck for accuracy and the POIs are pretty damn close as well. Only a couple clicks difference. And yes, doing shot strings wastes a TON of pellets.
I believe my gun to be tuned by Ernest as well. The guy I bought it from didn’t mention any kind of tuning, and you’d think he would as it’s definitely a positive thing, but He didn’t. I find it more likely Ernest has worked his magic on this gun rather than it coming from the manufacturer shooting this tight.

I haven’t run shot strings (mainly because I didn’t want to just shoot up that may polymags), but I shot them out to 50 yards and they pretty much punch the same hole as my JSB Kings… I bought my .25 Cricket used as well… haven’t done anything to it but shoot it since I got it. I don’t know if it’s because of the Ernest Tune, but this thing is so smooth and stable, I can’t believe how well it shoots… Hunert’ yard head shots on turtles already… Hope the .22 Standard/Skeleton I bought last week shoots like that when I get it.

I really hope mine turns out like that!!!! Thankyou for posting this if you mod it at all do more shot strings please!

For some reason the picture rotates when it uploads.. Oh well.
