Cricket .25 Standard 27.5" OAL shot string
Another project done, after shooting the .25 compact and standard—-> the long is to long for me! most impotent to me is the compact size and light weight then shot count but 39 shots is plenty for hunting.
Kings 25.4g
fill pressure 230B
High 920
Low 913
ES 7fps
# shots 39

The ST barrel are going to be 20″ so will have 3″ more air expansion on a 18″ shroud and keep it under 34″—to keep it in the quiet and still compact.
why 16″ and 18″ barrel—–> just to keep the look of a compact and standard size that’s all. both barrel can reach over 50fpe.
Adv disadv 16 vs 18? Be interested in ST results.
on the standard .25 I did manage to reach 55FPE then set it back down to 47fpe.

I have 2 long .25 barrels was shorten to 18″ and 16″, one standard 22 and one compact .22, all parts are interchangeable. the other .22 are going to be converted to a long .25 cal with a smooth twist barrel–just waiting on AOA shipment of barrels within a week.

I thought in 0.25 cal, Cricket doesn’t make any compact version. Only for 0.177 and 0.22 cals, they make compact models. 😥 Am I mistaken?
Ernest, is this the one you converted from a standard or long 0.25 cal to the compact length? Are you using the factory shroud right now on the 18 inch barrel? What is the sound level like for this compact 0.25 cal?
Really looks great, and compact for a 0.25 Cal …… and you are looking at 50+ FPE. Unbelievable!! Keep us informed, Ernest! Exciting stuff!!! 😀
Great job Ernest! Keep it up!
I think 2 weeks, will see on post.
Is it a long wait?
the Standard Crickets are 27.5″ and
the Long Crickets are 33″
Its a bit confusing. Ernest put a long stock onto a Standard Cricket.
I would like a .177 Compact Cricket but amazingly they only sell a Standard .177 Cricket at the moment so Ernest has this project. 🙂
So you are getting about 47 FPE from that little baby …. how is accuracy, have you tested it yet?
I custom order a .177 compact, yes they make them, but nobody here sell them–custom order only.

testing accuracy tomorrow, that barrel was accurate before it was shorten to 18″, going to lean how to hold/shoot the beast==and may set it up to +50 FPE

I think the Compact Crickets are 24.5″

That compact Cricket, 27.5 inch, looks great!!! Great job Ernest!!! Doesn’t the Cricket .25 cal only comes in 33 inch from factory? I guess you did your magic on this one again?

Very nice Ernest!
I have nine 30″ pellet proof (all steel) feeders loaded with sunflower seeds. I always have a few sparrows. 😉 $500 in feeders counting steel hook posts and some other stuff and an electric fence to keep the deer away from them. 😆 Think of it like a big bug light. The lady at the bird store is always so happy to see me but I had to switch to the feed store to be able to find strong affordable feeders. 🙂
Ernest
It only look great with that long forearm stock. no more sparrow here I shot them all with the 8fpe .177 cricket!

Any Cricket owner of a standard air tube want to trade for a long air tube ????
if you have a CF shroud and use a long air tube the shroud my end up the same length as the barrel or wont stick out as much. long air tube is 25.5″ OAL
