Cricket .25 vs Matador .25 long vs Bobcat .25 vs Vulcan .25
Hi,
I would like to determine which bull is the most silent one in .25 given that they all shoot at around 290 m/s.

Ville given your tastes in airgun I think you would really like the Taipan. The longer I own one the more I like it.
Cheap feeling parts but available without 3 yrs wait – or longer. Here we have loads of guys making afternarket shrouds, adapters and LDC’s so not a problem getting those. From aluminium, carbon fiber or both. The Cricket doesn’t get overly long if one uses ie reflex moderator.
But , Like said the noise isn’t a concern for me .

Ville I was a little lazy on my last post. It is true an LDC to a cricket works well. But you have to have a new cap made by a machinist. It’s a little more work. Then the gun is crazy long with the LDC. With John’s shroud cover on the EDgun its easier to install than the cricket. Also the cricket parts seem a little cheap feeling. The kalibergun is crazy accurate but I wish the parts were machined a little better. The Taipan has all the right stuff. I can’t wait to see their 25. Right now my favorite 25 is the Vulcan.
I don’t hate EdGuns. I just low the way Ed treats his customers. That arrogant, pompous way may rock in Kreml but it doesn’t impress the Western people except some afficionados.
And adding that same LDC onto ie Cricket will make it as quiet so i don’t see your point 😉
I don’t care about what little noise these BP’s make since it doesn’t matter to me the least. Otherwise i’d already have the new shroud on my Vulcan.

I’m sure Ville has his reasons for hating EDgun but I do not share his enthusiastic hate for the Eddie. The EDgun is the same as the cricket in noise but adding an LDC will make the EDgun more quiet than the other models listed. Now in all fairness Vulcan has resigned the moderator on their gun. They are sending me a new moderator so if you can wait a few weeks I’ll report on the new shroud.
Cricket is the quietest. Vulcan has a distinct hammer slap, EdGun sucks and FX is … an FX.

Well I don’t own either of the new contenders (Vulcan and Taipan) but according the reviews they both seem to be outstanding.
Nevertheless the Taipan looks to me like a “mechanical and metal work of art” (with all due respect to the Vulcan).
