Q:

Cricket and Edgun @ 50y, 75y & 100y

Today I have a chance to swing by the indoor range to do some shooting. I am just an average shooter and rifle resting on wood bocks. With proper rifle vice, I think the grouping can be improves.

In red marker is the Cricket in .22 @ arounf 880fps.
In blue ink is the Edgun in .25 @ around 890fps.

You might want to look at it again…

The 50 and 100 yards groups are basically the same (perhaps a slight edge to the EdGun, but we are talking like 1-2mm). The 75 yard EdGun group is better than the Cricket group at 75 yards… Which is strange really, but not unheard of.

from what I can see the cricket was better.

2ft?. Ouch. That’s way to close. Surprised you even hit target.
In that case good shooting. 😀

Now one can appreciate how challenging sparrows are at 105 yards on a dead tree they hang out in behind my house. A 33% success rate on a windless day from a bench rest is a very good day. 🙂 :4:

Yes, that range do not have any sand bag, only something like wood blocks. Not enough coffee and it does not help with black power goes off every 2-3s and 2ft from me. Those rifle can do better grouping, it’s the shooter(me) fault!

Wow. Not impressive groups for indoor. Either both guns have issues or you had waaayyyy to much coffee. 😆
Bags or bipod are much better than Wood blocks anyday. That 25 is gonna jump off a block. ALOT more ummph on shot for sure.
I shot this mil-dot ladder run off bipod only. Shoot, back up, repeat as quick as possible. 25 consecutive shots in the wind.

My 22 has similar accuracy results. The 25 just does more damage to backstop. 😮

boy i was gonna say that edgun had a awsome group at 100yd (at the pistol) but then i saw the flyer hiding on the grip

Pretty close for both of them. The EdGun may squeak out the Cricket at 75 yards… But at 50 and 100 they are tied according to these groups.

I wrote on the photo to show the best groups for each rifle.

Forgot to mention, pellets are unsorted and straight from the tins. JSB 18.1 & King.

Thanks for sharing X.

I am not sure if it is my browser, but it looks like the Cricket is a bit better than Edgun here. I shoot benchrest, I prefer bags to vice.
