I got my knob too from Steve, but I didn’t install it yet. My Cricket standard .22 shoots 18 grain JSBs at 905 FPS starting at 250 BAR. The gun is shooting is so good right now I don’t want to do anything yet. Over four magazines I get 5 FPS of extreme spread. 😉
Hi,
I would also like to add that the twang which I perceived is gone. This most likely due to the guide on the adjuster. I use to shoot untuned and tuned springers with fitted guides and I am sensitive to twang. More so, I wanted to get rid of the twang than facilitate the ability to adjust the power. Kalibr should consider adding a guide to the adjuster. It’s a small detail that some shooter would really appreciate (ME).
I also purchased three mags from Steve. Relatively inexpensive I might add.
Steve’s adjuster is a nice little upgrade and I believe it is well worth it.
Thanks for reading my post,

hi,
I got the HS adjuster from Steve at TopGun today. I put it on without the the spring and it felt a little loose. I put a little thread sealant on the adjuster threads and installed it complete with spring. I used permatex high temp thread seal since it does not harden. It dries tacky and released with little pressure. A delrin button on the threads would be ideal to provide enough friction to prevent any movement of the adjuster caused by the hammer spring twisting as it compresses. So far, I shot about 30 shots and no movement. I polished the spring ends and applied some moly grease to the ends. This should also help.
The first few shots were at 884 fps and I screwed in the adjuster to 895 fps. I’m shooting 15.9 jsbs. Here is a pic of the adjuster. I think the reg is set to max out at 900 fps with 15.9’s. That is fine with me because I can get five full clips (70 shots) from 250 bar down to 105 bar. I also tested a few 18.1 jsbs I had and they flew out at 865 fps. I have not tested which pellet is more accurate. I have three tins of 15.9’s and when I run out, I will try 18.1’s. With my other guns, 18.1’s were more accurate even at shorter distances compared to 15.9’s. I also noticed that the 15.9 skirts are very thin and prone to getting dented. This bugs me and with the 18.1’s being more accurate (at least in my other guns), I will probably switch to 18.1’s once I run out of 15.9’s.
The 18.1’s are delivering an even 30 ftlbs while the 15.9’s are at 28 ftlbs. That is another reason to switch over to 18.1’s. So in the power department, the 18.1’s win. It they are as accurate or more than the 15.9’s, I’m switching over to 18.1’s. Regardless, it is good to have choices.

Hi everyone,
I just order an adjuster from Steve at Topguns. It cost 35 bucks. Not bad. I was more interested in addressing the lack of a hst guide. Being able to easily adjust it is a plus. The X-ray video shows the spring bending which probably not good it’s life expentency. When I shoot my gun, I also felt twanging. The guide should also help this minor issue.
Yellow,
Does your adjuster stay put?
Thanks
Gabe

Steve’s e-mail is in a post above, just send him an e-mail /\ I’m sure he will check in when he has time. As far as I know they are available in aluminum only.
Perhaps Steve will grace us with a visit and advise us of prices, metals available, and delivery times???
H 😯 😯 t
I got an adjuster from Steve a few weeks back when they were in the prototype stage and didn’t want to say anything till they were ready. Steve has them available now and I think he’s got that area covered. :thumb:
I guessed as much……… 😉
This is NOT a factory std delivery, and east european forums show a lot of different solutions all aimed at the same problem: To make the hsp adjuster more easily operated AND to provide the hsp with a highly needed guide……..
Now, anybody with lathe skills could produce one, – so here’s a market opportunity for the clever ones…… 😀
Cheers

Well I just talked to Boris at Top Gun and he informed me that is an in-house adjuster knob that they had made up. Factory is the plastic plug with the two holes. Apparently Steve is in charge of the machined Al knurled knob endeavor. So they will figure out when they can get more made, costs etc. I told him I will call back in a couple weeks. Boris was a bit taken aback at all the attention this little gizmo was receiving. At any rate he will check into it.
How can I get in contact with Steve? I called Bori at Topgun and he doesn’t know his number. Bori told me that he thinks Steve is making the knob and that it may not be an original part from Kalibrgun.

zocoloco posted this last year. he mention the hammerspring about 3/4 down the page.

Hi,
I just finished shooting a 36 shot string and the ES is tighter than when I had the factory adjuster. An average of 895 with an ES of 4 fps. The ES is better than with the factory adjuster. It’s a good indicator of what to expect with a longer shot string.
Your ES is sweet :8:
I wouldn’t mess with it either. However, if you do decide to switch adjusters, make sure to mark where the factory adjuster is so you can always go make to that setting.
